Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test

Overview

At the state level, Karnataka administers a teacher eligibility test. The exam is known as the Karnataka TET or KARTET. Karnataka's Centralized Admission Cell administers the test. The primary goal of the test is to verify the eligibility of applicants who wish to work as teachers in various government schools around the state of Karnataka. The test consists of two papers: Paper I is for individuals who want to teach at the lower elementary levels, and paper II is for those who want to teach at the higher primary levels. KARTET certified applicants are given a certificate of eligibility that is valid for up to 7 years.

Highlights:

The Department of Public Instruction has announced the KARTET results and final answer keys. Based on the final answer key, the KARTET result has been issued. Candidates who took the KARTET test on August may now get their results.

Eligibility

KARTET is divided into two sections: paper I and paper II. The following are the qualifying requirements for both papers:

Age: There is no upper age restriction for KARTET; individuals of any age can apply for the test if they have appropriate educational qualifications.

Qualifications in Education:

Exam Pattern

The KARTET test format adheres to the NCTE norms for central and state TET exams. The KARTET test consists of two papers: paper 1 is for individuals who want to apply for primary level teachers (classes 1 to 5) and paper 2 is for those who want to apply for upper primary teachers (classes 6 to 8). A total number of MCQ questions is 150, worth 150 marks. The time duration is 2 hours and 30 minutes. Correct answers earn +1 points, and there is no negative marking.

Exam Paper

  • The KARTET Paper I is for candidates who desire to teach in grades one through five.
  • The KARTET Paper II is for candidates who desire to teach in grades 6–8.
  • There will be no negative marking. Applicants have a range of possibilities for language papers. For each paper, candidates can select from the following subjects: English, Kannada, Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Marathi, and Telugu. Candidates cannot, however, select the same subject for both language I and language II. In all exams, 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) will be asked. The test will be administered in an offline format, with candidates required to fill out an OMR sheet with their replies. The social study part is only available to visually challenged applicants taking Paper 1.

Exam Application Process

KARTET is used to assess the eligibility of people applying for teaching employment in government schools. Every year, the TET is held. The following are the steps of KARTET selection:

  • Application Form: KARTET application forms are accessible online at the board's official website. Candidates must pay the KARTET application fee online after completing the online application.
  • Admit Card: Prior to the written test, the KARTET admit card will be made available online. One week before the examination, candidates may get their KARTET to admit card from the official website. To gain access into the test hall, you must have a printed copy of your admit card with you.
  • KARTET Test: The state-level KARTET exam is used to hire primary teachers (paper I) and upper primary teachers (paper II). Level I hires teachers for grades 1-5, whereas Level II hires teachers for grades 6-8.
  • Result Announcement: The KARTET result is announced shortly after the evaluation procedure is completed. Those who get scores higher than the cut-off will be issued a TET qualifying certificate, which will be valid for seven years.
