  • The KARTET Paper I is for candidates who desire to teach in grades one through five.
  • The KARTET Paper II is for candidates who desire to teach in grades 6–8.
  • There will be no negative marking. Applicants have a range of possibilities for language papers. For each paper, candidates can select from the following subjects: English, Kannada, Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Marathi, and Telugu. Candidates cannot, however, select the same subject for both language I and language II. In all exams, 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) will be asked. The test will be administered in an offline format, with candidates required to fill out an OMR sheet with their replies. The social study part is only available to visually challenged applicants taking Paper 1.
