Introduction

Indian Institute of Technology, Patna (IIT, Patna) was established at Bihita, about 40 km from Patna on August 06, 2008. IIT, Patna offers B Tech. Course in five disciplines which include Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Chemical Engineering. The Institute offers M Tech. course in multiple disciplines. The specialization subjects are Mechatronics, Mathematics & Computing, Nano Science & Technology, Computer Science and Engineering Communication System Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering. IIT, Patna also offers PhD programs in all ten departments. Recently, the Human Resource Ministry, Govt. of India has ranked IIT, Patna as the 19th best engineering college.
