Introduction

Visvesvaraya Technological University is a non-profit public state university, and one of the largest universities in India established in1998 and located in the rural setting of the large city of Belgaum, Karnataka. VTU is one of India’s largest and leading technological universities. The University is named after Mr. M. Visveswaraya of Karnataka, the only engineer to be awarded a Bharat Ratna (highest civilian award in India). VTU comes under the category of a few universities in India to have its 16 affiliated colleges accepted by the World Bank for getting assistance in enhancing its infrastructure. VTU’s Executive council and Academic Senate members are selected from the academic community and government officials. It has signed multiple MoUs with multinational corporations like IBM, Intel Asia Electronics Inc., etc. to improve the industry interaction for students and teachers.
