Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test

Overview

Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test is a state-level examination held once a year to perform the recruiting process for primary (1-5 grade) and upper primary (6-8 grade) level teachers in Uttar Pradesh schools. It is administered by UPBEB (the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board). The Uttar Pradesh Exam Regulatory Authority has issued the UPTET 2021 notice and application form (ERA). The UPTET registration started on October 7,2021 on the official website and will continue till October 27, 2021. On October 7, the UPTET notice 2021 was made public. The UP ERA will administer the UPTET 2021 test in two shifts on November 28 for Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Highlights
The UP Basic Educational Board is responsible for organising the UPTET 2022 examination. Any applicant who wishes to teach in the state's primary or junior high schools must first pass the UPTET examination. It is necessary to pass UPTET because it verifies a candidate's eligibility. Before applying, candidates should review all of the important details about UPTET 2022 and complete the application form before the deadline. If a candidate is ineligible to fill out the application form, his or her application will be denied at any point. On or before the deadline, interested applicants can fill out the UPTET 2022 application form.

Eligibility:
Candidates must have a Class 12 diploma or a graduate degree in any subject and D.Ed. Or similar.
The age requirement for applicants is 18 to 35 years old. Reserved Group candidates qualify for age relaxation.
Candidates must be Indian/Nepali/Bhutanese/Tibetan nationals.
    

Syllabus:
The part on child development and pedagogy discusses Child Pedagogy, the meaning and principles of learning, teaching and learning methods, inclusive education-guidance and counselling, and learning and teaching. It examines the candidate's conceptual knowledge.
Paper 1 has a difficulty level of Class 1-5 and Paper 2 has difficulty level of Class 6-8.
Language-I will concentrate on skills related to the medium of education. Language 1 contains the subject's content and pedagogy. The amount of understanding of the language is essentially what determines the language. This section contains the levels of difficulty for Classes I through V for Paper 1 and Classes Vi-VIII for Paper 2.
Language-II is based on the same fundamental concepts as Language 1. Linguistic 2 will concentrate on language concepts and comprehension skills.
The mathematics syllabus is extensive, yet the exam problems are somewhat difficult and drawn from the NCERT books for grades 1 through 5 for Paper 1. The questions will be based on the syllabus's content and pedagogical subjects. For paper 2, all of the questions were from the NCERT Class 6 to 8 textbooks.
For Paper 1, EVS (Environmental Studies) is a high-score section. It will put the students' problem-solving skills and instructional knowledge to the test. The EVS Syllabus comprises educational content and pedagogy.
For Paper 2, science course is extensive and difficult, although the exam questions are of a moderate difficulty. The questions are about the fundamental grasp of the ideas. 
Social science includes History, Geography, Politics, EVS, Gardening, Agriculture, and Pedagogy are all included in this topic. The questions will be based on the themes covered in the syllabus (NCERT Class 6th to 8th), although the difficulty level may reach the senior secondary level.

The UPTET exam consists of two papers: Primary Stage (Paper 1) and Elementary Stage (Paper 2). Candidates may also apply for both papers. These papers last 2 hours and 30 minutes each. The test includes 150 multiple-choice questions.

Exam Paper
The questions paper for UPTET 2021-2022 are divided into five sections for paper-1 and four sections for paper-2.
Pedagogy and Child Development: The Child Development and Pedagogy section's questions are focused on educational psychology and the teaching-learning process of children aged 6 to 11 years for Paper-1 and age group of 11 to 14 years for paper-2. The section covers concerns about special needs children as well as teaching methodologies for various courses.
Language I and II - The questions in this part are designed to assess applicants' linguistic and grammar skills. The difficulty level of the questions is determined by the curriculum for Classes 1–5 for paper-1 and Classes 6 to 8 for paper-2.
Mathematics: For paper 1-The questions in the Mathematics area are based on the subject's fundamental concepts, logic, problem solving, and pedagogical expertise. The difficulty level of the questions is determined by the curriculum for Classes 1–5.
For Paper-2: The questions in Mathematics and Science concern the fundamentals of Science and Mathematics, problem-solving skills, mathematics and science instruction, and scientific understanding.  The questions in the Social Science part are based on Social Science concepts, material, and pedagogical expertise. The difficulty level of the questions is determined by the curriculum for Classes 6–8. Paper-II test questions will be based on topics from the Basic Education Council's syllabus for grades 6 to 8, although their difficulty level and combination will be intermediate.
