Overview

JEE Advanced is organised on a rotating basis by one of the seven zonal IITs, namely IIT Kharagpur, IIT Roorkee, IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Bombay, and IIT Guwahati. Admission to the 23 participating IITs' undergraduate courses, Integrated Masters, or Bachelor-Master Dual degree programs in engineering, science, and architecture is available through JEE Advanced. Candidates who pass JEE Main will be eligible to take JEE Advanced. The test, which will be administered in both English and Hindi and will be overseen by the Joint Admission Board, will be held online.

Eligibility

Before filling out the application form, all applicants must meet the JEE Advanced eligibility criterion. If a student fails to fulfil any of the eligibility requirements, he or she will be rejected and will not be able to participate in the admissions process. The following are the general requirements for JEE Advanced eligibility:

  • Age Restriction: Students in the general category must have been born on or after October 1, 1997. For applicants from the restricted categories (SC/ST/PWD), there is a 5-year age limit relaxation. 
  • Qualifying Exam: Passed 10+2 or taking the exam in to be eligible for JEE Advanced.
  • JEE Main Qualifying Candidates: Only the top 2.5 lakh JEE Main qualified students will be permitted to sit for JEE Advanced 2022. The test organizing authority will publish a cut-off list for JEE Advanced. In addition to passing the JEE Main, all students must score above the cut-off.
  • Number of Attempts: Candidates are permitted to take the JEE Advanced test twice in two years.

Exam Application Process

  • Candidates who pass JEE Mains can register for JEE Advanced by following the guidelines outlined below. Because the registration procedure will be entirely online, applicants must verify that they have all of the necessary documentation and are JEE Advanced Eligible.
  • Candidates should go to the official JEE Advanced website. Enter JEE Main credentials to gain access.
  • After logging in, candidates will be asked to enter basic information as well as their preferred city for the examination. Candidates will also be offered the option of adding an extra phone number and email address in addition to their JEE Main registration number and email address.
  • Candidates should keep their mobile phone number and email address active at all times, since all critical notifications will be sent to them via these channels.
  • Scanned copies of needed documents should be uploaded. Registration fee must be paid.

 

Registration Fee:

Candidates can pay the registration fee either online (through debit card or net banking) or offline (by SBI Challan). The money is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Selection Process:

JEE Advanced entrance examinations are critical since they are the entrance to admission to India's most prominent universities, such as IITs and NIITs. It is considered the second part of JEE examinations and is only open to candidates who have taken JEE Mains. And the screening procedure for candidates is as difficult as the exam itself. Students must achieve a minimum of 75% on their board examinations. (The aggregate score for the general category is 75%, while the score for the OBC/SC/ST class is 70%.) Alternatively, candidates must achieve a position in the top 20% of each category list in their Board examinations.

Cut Off:

The JEE Advanced cut-off is the minimum mark necessary for a candidate to qualify for the test. It will be announced by the appropriate authorities following the announcement of the results. Candidates with marks equal to or higher than the cut-off will be considered qualified and placed on the common rank list. JEE Advanced counseling would be done based on cut-offs. Candidates can check the category-wise cut-offs below until the JEE Advanced cut-off is announced:

Q1. Is it mandatory to take Papers 1 and 2 in JEE Advanced ?
Ans. Yes, it is required. Candidates who took both examinations were only permitted to verify their results.

Q2. I am a PwD candidate who has a 40% disability and a PwD certificate. Is it possible for me to take advantage of the scribe and an extra hour during the JEE Advanced exam?
Ans. The scribe's services are only offered to persons who are visually impaired, dyslexic, or have an upper limb handicap. The scribe's desire should be noted before registering for JEE Advanced . Only those who are granted permission will be able to profit.

Q3. Can a candidate take the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) without taking the JEE Advanced ?
Ans. No, applicants who pass JEE Advanced will only be eligible to take AAT 2022.

Q4. Can people with PIO and OCI cards take the exam?
Ans. Yes, PIO and OCI cards can take the JEE advanced exam. 

Q5. Are there any items I am allowed to bring into an exam room?
Ans. According to the guidelines, you can only bring essential stationery products. There are no electronic devices, books, or calculators permitted in the test hall.
