Overview

Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test or also known as HPCET is a state-level entrance exam. This exam is conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Technical University. After successfully qualifying for this HPCET exam applicants can get admission in B.Pharmacy, B.Tech, M.Pharmacy, M.Tech, MCA, and MBA programs affiliated by the HPTU. Those applicants who have qualified for the JEE mains will be eligible for direct admission in HPCET. 

All the admission shall be strictly done on the basis of performance in the exam HPCET. The application mode will be done through offline/Pen-Paper mode. Eligibility

B.Pharma: Applicants need to clear 12th exam with PCM / Biology/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subjects with at least 45% marks ( for other categories 40% marks) is required. 
B.Tech: Candidates must have need to clear class 12th or intermediate exam with Physics, Mathematics and Biotechnology/ Chemistry/ Technical Vocational/ Biology subjects with at least 45% marks for reserved categories applicants required 40% marks.
M.Tech: Candidates who hold the BE or B.Tech degree in the respective discipline with 50% of aggregate marks ( for reserved category 45% marks required) will be eligible.
M.Pharma: applicants should have B.Pharma degree with 50% of aggregate marks (in case of reserved category the minimum percentage required 45% marks) are eligible.
B.Pharma (Ayurveda): The candidates should have cleared 12th exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with 45% marks (for other category applicants 40% marks required).
MCA: Applicants must need to hold a bachelor’s degree from any stream with 50% of aggregate marks (for reserved category candidates the percentage requirement 45% marks). Make sure applicants should have Mathematics in Intermediate.
MBA: Applicants need a bachelor’s degree in the relevant stream with at least 50% marks ( for reserved category applicants 45% marks) is required.

The question paper based on Multiple Choice Questions
The duration of HP CET exam will be three hours
The question paper is available in only the English language

There are three sections in the exam: Mathematics/ Biology, Chemistry, Physics for B. Tech

  • M. Pharmacy, there will be three sections Bio-Chemistry, Pharmaceutical, Microbiology, Pharmaceutical Science, Aptitude test
  • MCA question paper, there are four sections available in the question paper
  • MBA question paper, there are also four sections available

Exam Application Process

  • The HP CET exam Registration process begins from the month of April.
  • Applicants can apply through online mode to register themselves on the HPCET.
  • The procedure to fill out the application form for HP CET exam are mentioned below:
  • Candidates must go through the official website and need to create or their profile on the HP CET portal
  • At first, applicants need to register themselves to create a unique User ID and Password. After this, applicants need to enter their other information like educational and personal
  • Now login by using the login credentials and upload the scanned copies of documents 
  • In last step, pay the application fee and submit the application form

Selection Process of HPCET Exam:

  • The HPCET Selection Process will be based on obtained marks in the exam. 
  • Applicants need to clear the exam before going for further process
  • Once applicants clear the exam, then they need to appear in the counseling process

 

Cut off of HPCET Exam:

  • Once the exam is conducted successfully then the authority will also release cut-off. The BUMAT cut-off will be based on various factors like total availability of seats, how many applicants applied for the exam, difficulty level of the exam, etc.
