Eligibility

The eligibility criteria of GCET exam may vary from one course to another course. Applicants who are willing to apply for this exam should need to intermediate or any equivalent exam. The eligibility criteria for every course are listed below:

Engineering Course- Applicants should have to complete their Intermediate or any equivalent exam from any recognized board with Mathematics or Physics or English as mandatory subjects.Applicants the following subject in Chemistry/ Biology/ Computer science/ Biotechnology with at least 45% aggregate marks for the general category candidates and required 40% for the PH/ ST/ SC applicants.

B. Arch Course- Applicants should have to clear the intermediate or equivalent examination with mathematics subject with 50% marks for general category candidates and 45% for reserved categories.

B. Sc Nursing Course- Applicants should have an intermediate degree in English, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology with 45% aggregate marks for the general category and 40% marks for reserved category candidates.

BHMS and AHS Course- Applicants must have passed the intermediate or equivalent exam with Biology, Physics, and Chemistry subjects with at least 50% marks (for general category candidates) and 40% marks for PH/ SC/ ST candidates.

B. Pharm Course- Candidates must need to clear 12thor any equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, and English as compulsory subjects.

Syllabus

The syllabus of the GCET entrance exam will be prescribed by the GOA board of secondary higher education. Candidates must have to complete the intermediate exams with Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics in their qualifying exam. The subject wise topics are as follows:

Physics- Magnetic effects of current & magnetism, Electrostatics and Current electricity, Electromagnetic induction, Atoms and nuclei, Alternating currents, Dual nature of matter and radiation, Optics, Electronic devices, Communication systems, Electromagnetic waves, etc.

Chemistry- General principles and processes of isolation of elements, Coordination compounds, Electrochemistry, Coordination compounds, Alcohols, Organic compounds containing nitrogen, Aldehydes, Ketones, phenols and ethers, and carboxylic acids, Bio-molecules, Solutions, etc.

Mathematics- Relations and Functions, Vectors and three-dimensional geometry, Linear programming, Algebra, Probability, Calculus.

Exam Pattern

The application mode will be organized through the offline mode
There are MCQs multiple-choice questions available in the GCET exam
75 questions will be the total number of questions in the exam
For every right answer, Applicants will get 1 mark

Exam Application Process

The registration process is the first step and candidates need to enter their information to complete the registration process Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s name, etc.
Applicants can fill their application form through offline mode or online mode
Applicants can able to fill out their application form before the due date
Applicants can download their application form from the GCET website

Registration Fees of GCET Exam:
Applicants will need to submit their GCET application fee in the form of (DD) Demand Draft, but make sure the DD must be in favor of the Director of technical education at Panaji in Goa
Rupees 2000 will be the application fee for all category applicants

Selection Process of GCET exam:
Applicants need to first clear the exam to get selected for the exam
After clearing the exam, the authority will release the cut-off
Once applicants check their name in the cut off list    
After this, applicants will be called for the counseling process 

Cut off of GCET Exam:
The GCET exam cut-off will be based on multiple factors like the difficulty level of the exam, the previous year’s cut-off, the total number of available vacancies in the exam, exam pattern, total number of seats, and other factors.
