Introduction

Indira Gandhi National Open University, the university was established in the year of 1985. The university offers various distance and part-time courses to the students. Indira Gandhi National Open University or IGNOU began by offering 2 programs in 1987, with the strength of approximately 4,000 students. Now, the university serves more than 3 million students in India as well as abroad through its 21 schools in 67 regional centers and 29 overseas partner institutions.

IGNOU also offers more than 200 programs like diplomas, certificates, degrees as well as doctoral-level courses. IGNOU offers admissions twice in the year in January as well as July. For the session of January, the online registration process will start from November, and for the session of July, the registration will start in May-June.

IGNOU conducts TEE twice a year. IGNOU was also declared as the largest institution of higher learning in the year 2010 by UNESCO. As a world leader in distance education, the university has also been honored multiple times with awards of excellence by the Commonwealth of Learning Canada.

Admission

IGNOU offers admission on the basis of the entrance exam or obtained marks in the previous qualifying exam. Check the below details to take admission:
Admission into the UG programs B.Com, BAVTM, BCA, B.Sc, BA will be based on the merit list and it is obtained marks in the intermediate in its equivalent exam
In the BBA course, the admission will be based on a merit list
For MBA applicants will be shortlisted on the basis of obtained marks in Bachelor’s degree program
The admission into BLIS program will be based on obtained marks in Bachelor’s degree or any one-year diploma in Library Science.
