VELS Entrance Examination

Overview

The VELS Entrance Examination (VEE) is a qualifying entrance test for admission to VELS University Chennai's undergraduate and postgraduate programs. VELS University Chennai administers the test. Candidates who meet the qualifying requirements are eligible to take the test. A minimum qualification of 10+2 is required for the candidate. Candidates must complete 100 questions in 90 minutes. Every right answer receives one mark, while erroneous responses receive no deduction.

Eligibility

The Vels University exam conducting body establishes the VEE Eligibility Criteria. Before filling out the application form, candidates must meet the qualifying requirements for the exam. The applicant must meet the qualifying requirements for the position for which he or she wishes to apply.

  • Nationality: Candidates of any Indian nationality are eligible to take the VEE test.
  • Age Restrictions: There is no age restrictions imposed by VELS University for any programme.
  • For NRI/Foreign Candidates: Those for undergraduate courses must have completed 12 years of formal schooling, while candidates for postgraduate courses must have a Bachelor's degree.

Exam Pattern

  • The VEE test is given in a paper-and-pencil format. The VEE test has a total score of 100, and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers. The VEE examination will take 90 minutes to complete. There will be multiple-choice questions on the examination paper (MCQs)
  • Candidates will be required to answer 100 questions. The medium of Language is English.

Exam Paper

  • The candidate must understand the structure of the key subjects, the topics covered, and the weightage of the test scores. After the registrations are completed successfully, the test conducting authority will issue instructions and directions relevant to the curriculum. Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning are the three areas of the VEE test. The candidate must understand how much time should be allotted to each component.

Exam Prepare

  • It is usually advisable to consult previous year's question papers. This will assist the applicants in developing an understanding of the query patterns. Candidates may also attempt to complete the practise exams. This will give them a sense of how much preparation is needed. The most significant aspect of any preparation is the candidates' efforts, devotion, and self-study. It’s important for them to keep their pace and precision up.

Exam Application Process

The application form can be found on the official website. In order to take the VEE test, candidates must fill out the form online within the deadlines.

Steps to Apply:

  • Visit the website and click on the VEE exam application form.
  • Register by completing the required information.
  • Fill out the full application form with all of the necessary information and upload a scanned photo of yourself and your signature.
  • Verify all of the information and pay the application cost.
  • Following successful fee payment, the application form will be submitted.

 

Registration Fee:

The application cost can be paid both online and offline. The application price for the VEE test 2022 varies per course:

  • Online mode: For all categories, the price for submitting an online application form is INR 900/- and it can be paid with a credit card, a debit card, or through net banking. This fee is non-refundable.
  • Offline mode: When obtaining the form through the post, the application cost for VEE would be INR 550/- and any additional fees (if any) must be delivered as a DD along with the completed application form. Also, Candidates must additionally pay INR 500/- in cash at the official desk on the college campus when filling out the application form. The offline application cost is payable by DD made payable to VELS University, Chennai.

 

Selection Process:

The VEE Merit list is the most essential element on which the admission process will be based after the VEE cut-off list. It will be ready when the VEE results are announced. Following the group discussion and interview, the candidates' final merit list is created. 

  • The exam body creates the VEE merit list.
  • The VEE Result is used to compile the merit list.
  • Candidates should save a printout of their VEE results for the admissions process.
  • If a candidate is shortlisted, he or she must go through a group discussion and personal interview procedure before being chosen.

 

Cut Off:

Vels University creates the cut-off after studying the VEE result. Because the number of candidates grows each year, there is a potential of a high cut-off. The cut-off is determined by the performance of the candidates in the exam. The cut-off can be influenced by a variety of factors.
