Introduction

Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University (SGBAU) (previously known as Amravati University) is a public state university in Amravati named after Sant Gadge Baba. The university was founded on May 1, 1983, after the University of Nagpur was divided. Amravati University is recognised by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, under Section 12(B) of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act. The University was re-accredited by NAAC in 2016 with an "A" rating.

Amravati University is associated with 127 colleges, with a large number of students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate studies across various faculties. Amravati University is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, based in London. It administers five Maharashtra regions: Amravati, Akola, Washim, Buldhana and Yavatmal.

The University places a strong emphasis on educating the underprivileged and oppressed. Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University is focused and committed to developing a human resource capable of transforming obstacles into opportunities by providing kids with training in all elements of skill development.

It provides undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, certificate, PG Diploma and PhD programmes in Commerce, Science, Technology & Engineering, Business Administration, Law, Library Science, and other fields. Other facilities on the university campus include a post office, a canteen, an employment bureau, a bank and municipal transportation services. The University has a 470.63-acre beautiful green campus with 28 Teaching Departments, a Model Degree College at Buldana, and four Faculties to meet the students' knowledge appetite.

In addition to traditional programmes, it provides MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) [Open Learning] in conjunction with MOOC.org and SWAYAM. It also holds a number of workshops or seminars for students to provide them with industry exposure.

	For B.P.ED / B.Ed. – MAH CET Score is required
	For remaining UG programmes - Admission is done on merit
Post-graduate Courses	For MTech - GATE/ GPAT scores are considered
	For LLM - MH CET Law test score
	For MBA - CAT/ MAT/ MAH CET/ CMAT / XAT/ ATMA/ GMAT/ exams scores are considered
	For M.Ed - MAH CET scores are required.
	For remaining PG programmes - Admission is done on merit
MPhil and PhD Course	For MPhil/ PhD- Entrance Test (MPET) by SGBAU is considered
MPhil and PhD Course	Candidates who have obtained a master's degree in the relevant field are eligible to apply for the PhD programme.
Other Courses	For Diploma, PG Diploma and certificate - based on merit.
	Candidates who have completed Class 12th may apply for any of the diploma programmes.

Ans. There will be an entrance exam for this course.

Ques. How much of a percentage is required to complete M.Sc. (SC Category) at SGBAU?
Ans. candidate must have a Graduation (B.Sc) from a UGC/Association of Indian Universities recognised university with at least 45 percent marks (40 percent for candidates from backward classes and individuals with disabilities from Maharashtra state alone) and should have passed 10+2 with mathematics as a subject.
