Eligibility

IETE determines the qualifying requirements for AMIETE. Before applying for the entrance exam, students must fulfil the qualifying conditions. The following are the various criteria:

  • Nationality:  The test is open to both Indian citizens and foreign nationals.
  • Age Criteria: To be eligible for the exam, candidates must be at least 16 years of age. Diploma candidates must be at least 18 years old in order to sit for the test.
  • Educational Criteria: Must have a 10+2 diploma in Physics and Maths from an acknowledged board.
  • Candidates with a 3-year diploma in Technology/Engineering encompassing courses such as Physics & Maths up to 10+2 level, as well as appropriate job experience, are qualified to take the test.
  • Applicants pursuing higher education in the fields of Electrical, Physics, Electronics, or computer science can also apply for AMIETE.

Syllabus

The syllabus comprises three disciplines in general: physics, chemistry, and mathematics. The syllabus is based on the 10+2 or upper secondary level. The entire curriculum is organised into two sections: mandatory and optional. Candidates are recommended to choose optional topics based on their preferences and performance in the 10+2 test. It is critical to choose the right elective subject in order to perform well.

Exam Pattern

AMIETE will be divided into two divisions, each of which will have a total of 20 theory papers. Part 1 and Part 2 will be subdivided from each of the two components.

  • Section A will consist of 11 theory papers, whereas Section B will consist of 9 theory papers.
  • There will be two practical papers in each of the two divisions.
  • Candidates will also be required to attend seminars in addition to working on the project work that has been given to them.
  • In addition to the above-mentioned pattern, each applicant will be required to complete obligatory training in communication skills and technical writing.
  • Though it will be required training, it will have no bearing on the candidate's total score.
  • Candidates will be permitted to begin project work after completing 14 theory papers.
  • A minimum of 50% on the theoretical component is necessary in order to sit for the practical examination.

Exam Paper

AMIETE paper contains of questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Maths, all of which are practical disciplines that cannot be memorised but must be practiced. AMIETE Previous Year Papers can be used by students to practise test questions. Learning the ideas alone will not get you through the test, but understanding how to approach hard problems that are worded in diverse ways from different areas will. This may be accomplished by taking as many AMIETE mock examinations as feasible throughout the preparation period.

Exam Prepare

  • AMIETE will be held offline, which means it will be a pen-and-paper test.
  • It will be divided into two divisions, A and B, with a total of 23 theoretical papers and four labs.
  • Students will also be required to do project work in order to pass the test. AMIETE results are usually announced in September for the June cycle and in March for the December cycle.
  • Candidates must first become members. The student's membership would be valid for ten consecutive examinations beginning on the date of enrolment. To take the AMIETE Examination, candidates must register before the given deadline.
  • Candidates must finish their AMIETE test within two enrollment periods from the date of initial enrolment. Only one membership renewal will be granted to a student. They must apply for renewal prior to or immediately following the expiration of their initial enrollment, with continuity of enrollment maintained by them.
  • Any application delays will be tallied against the total number of exams, and no exceptions will be made. If a request for renewal is received beyond the specified time of two enrollment, admittance will be handled as a fresh application, with no advantage in terms of exemptions for any subject passed or exempted during the previous term.

Exam Application Process

The AMIETE Application Form is accessible online and at any of the IETE facilities.  Candidates can apply for AMIETE by downloading the online form and mailing it or delivering it to the IETE headquarters. Aspirants can apply for the test by downloading the form and following the basic steps outlined below:

  • Step 1: Application form Download: Navigate to the website and select AIMETE. Applicants must choose their preferred stream by clicking on it. The AMIETE prospectus will be shown, along with the application form. Fill out the application form and print it.
  • Step 2: Application Form Filling: Candidates must provide basic information such as their name, DOB, email address, cell-phone number, correspondence address, course chosen, qualifying exam, test centre, and so on. They must attach a picture the size of a stamp to the form.
    • They should thoroughly check all of the information and avoid making any mistakes on the form.
    • After completing the form, candidates must include a DD for INR 6000 (separate DD for downloaded forms for INR 350), another photograph comparable to the one put on the form, and any other relevant documents.
  • Step 3: Form Submission: The forms must be delivered in person or through courier/ speed-post to the address specified on the form. They must include the relevant enclosures as well as a DD for the required costs.

 

Registration Fee:

  • The payment of fees is a critical step in the AMIETE application process. An application form that is submitted without the payment of the admission fees is deemed incomplete and will not be processed. AMIETE application fees is INR 6000 for Indian students and USD 1,000 for candidates outside of India.
  • The forms downloaded from the internet should be accompanied by an additional INR 350 as the cost of regulation, comprehensive curriculum, and mailing. A reprocessing fee of INR 500 will be paid for any corrections made to the application form after it has been processed. Similarly, changing streams would be enabled only once INR 600 has been paid.

 

Selection Process:

  • Counseling is the final stage in the admissions process. Candidates must attend the counselling session on the dates and times specified in the counseling call letter. All required original papers must be submitted to the counselling authority for verification at the time of counselling. If a seat is assigned to an applicant, they must report to the assigned institution / university within the time frame specified to confirm seat availability. 

 

Cut Off: 

  • The pass grade for the AMIETE Examination is 40% in each topic (excluding Project & Lab Practice) with an aggregate of 50% in accordance with the Institution's other conditions/norms. The pass grade for the Project & Lab Practice Examination is 50%.

Exam Center

AMIETE will be held in over 50 locations throughout India. Individuals will be asked to select one city as their chosen testing centre for the offline test. They must fill up the exam centre code in the application form accordingly.
The candidates will be assigned a centre by the organising institute, and the location of the centre will be listed on the admission card. Under no circumstances may an exam centre be modified after it has been assigned. In extreme circumstances, a change of exam centre will be authorised for an extra price of INR 500. While filling out the application form, candidates must choose a testing location from the cities mentioned below:

Admit Card

  • During the first week of June and December, only those candidates who have registered successfully for AMIETE will receive hall tickets. Admit cards can be acquired by logging into the website. Participants will also get hall tickets in the mail from the institute.
  • The hall ticket provides information on the individual such as their name and roll number, the date of the exam, and the test center assigned to them, as well as their address. It is a required exam document, and no student will be allowed inside the exam hall without it.
  • Steps to download Admit Card:
