Bihar Secondary Teachers Eligibility Test

Overview

BSEB conducts the Bihar Secondary Teachers Eligibility Test (BSTET) every year in order to recruit teachers on a secondary (Class 9- 10) and higher secondary level (Class 11-12). The STET in Bihar consists of two papers, Paper I and Paper II, for the two levels. Teachers in Bihar's government schools are required to pass written tests in order to be eligible for jobs. Additionally, physical education teachers will also be recruited through BSTET.

Highlights:

Bihar STET will be held in the month of January 2022, tentatively. The Bihar School Examination Board will conduct the test, which is also known as the Bihar State Teacher Eligibility Test, for Assistant Professors. This exam is held once a year at the state level. The written test for Paper-I and Paper-II of the Bihar Secondary Teachers Eligibility Test (STET) will be 150 marks each.

Eligibility

EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA:

  • To apply for Level-I, the applicant must have a 10+2 diploma with at least 50% marks and a Diploma in Education (D.Ed.).
  • To apply for Level 2, an applicant must be a graduate in any field and have completed a Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.Ed.) with a minimum of 50%.

 

AGE RESTRICTIONS: The minimum age limit is 21 years. Maximum age limit is as follows:

General (Male) 37 years
General (Female) 40 years
OBC (Male/Female) 40 years
SC/ST (Male/Female) 42 years

Syllabus

In Bihar STET Syllabus, most of the topics correspond to a bachelor's degree, whereas most of the questions correspond to secondary or even higher secondary school.

Paper-I (Secondary):

  • English (10+2 and Graduation Level Questions)
  • Hindi / Maths / Social Science (School and Graduation Level Questions)
  • Urdu / Sanskrit (Basic Skills including reading, writing, verbal ability Questions)
  • Science (Questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology up to 10+2)

 

Paper-II (Senior Secondary):

  • Physics/ Chemistry/ Zoology/Botany/Maths (10+2 and Graduation Level Questions)
  • English (10+2 and Graduation level questions {Basic Understanding, Grammar, Vocabulary etc.})
  • Computer Science (Computer architecture & organization, Digital logic, Computer networks, Basic computer literacy, Algorithms, Programming and data structure, Operating system, Database, Compiler design.

Exam Pattern

There will be 150 questions and medium of exam will be Hindi. Objective type questions in all sections with 2 hours and 30 minutes of duration. For a correct answer, one mark will be awarded. For a wrong answer, there will be no mark deducted.

Exam Paper

Candidates who are taking the Bihar Secondary Teachers Eligibility Test (STET) should study the previous year's question paper completely. Candidates might make it a habit to study these prior year's question questions in order to ace the actual test. Candidates who pass the Bihar STET with the required minimum score are called STET competent and receive a STET certificate from the Bihar government. In the Bihar STET Exam, there will be Objective Type Questions.  In Bihar, STET 2021 Examination, Paper I is for classes IX - X, while Paper II is for classes XI - XII.

Exam Application Process

  • Bihar STET written examination: The Bihar State Examination Board (BSEB) administers written tests at both the secondary and higher secondary levels. Paper I is for secondary school students, whereas paper II is for higher secondary students. To pass the tests, candidates must achieve minimum qualifying grades. To pass the exam, a candidate from the general category must achieve a score of 50%, while applicants from other categories must achieve a score of 45 percent.    
  • Bihar STET admit card: One week before the written test, the BSEB distributes the Bihar STET admit card. Candidates must download their admit cards or hall tickets from the official website using the link provided.
  • Release of Bihar STET answer key: After the written examination, BESB will issue the Bihar STET answer key. If they detect a discrepancy in the official answer key, candidates can submit an objection. The final answer key will be made public.
  • Result of Bihar STET: The identity of all successful applicants who met the cut-off marks in the separate exams will be announced in the Bihar STET result.

 

Cut Off:

To pass any exam, you must achieve the cut-off mark, which is the minimal score required. To make the Bihar STET Merit List 2021-2022, one must score significantly more than the Bihar STET Cut Off Marks 2021-2022.

Exam Center
