The AP TET is administered online in 13 districts and centres located in Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Chennai. Candidates must select their preferred district. If a certain district or center's session capacity is reached, the candidate must choose another day and session from among the remaining districts. If an applicant fails to select an examination centre by the deadline, the education department will do so. The allocation of centres is at the discretion of the department, and requests to modify centres or exam sessions are not permitted under any circumstances. Candidates are assigned a test centre based on their top five selections.

The AP TET Exam will consist of two papers (Paper - I & Paper-II). Paper I is for applicants who will be hired as Primary Teachers (Class I to V), whereas Paper II is for applicants who will be hired as Elementary Teachers (Class VI to VIII). The written test includes objective questions. Each paper consists of 150 questions, worth 150 marks. The written test lasts for 2 hours and 30 minutes for each paper.
