Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test

Eligibility

Candidates must satisfy different APTET qualifying requirements for Paper 1 and Paper 2.

APTET Paper-I (Class 1 to 5)
Should have finished Intermediate / Senior Secondary (or similar) with a minimum of 50% marks. For SC/ST/BC/Differently Abled candidates, the minimum mark is 45 percent. And a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education / a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd) / a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education), OR
Should have finished Intermediate / Senior Secondary School (or similar) with at least 45% marks. For SC/ST/BC/Differently Abled applicants, the minimum marks must be 40%. And a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education / 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd) / 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) course prior to the publication of these guidelines in the case of candidates who have passed or been admitted to a DElEd / DEd course prior to the publication of these guidelines.
APTET Paper- 2A (Class 6 to 8)
Must have passed a BA/BSc/BCom with at least 50% marks. For SC/ST/BC/Differently Abled applicants, minimum marks must be 40%. And a Bachelor of Education (BEd) programme / Bachelor of Education (BEd -Special Education), OR
Should have completed a four-year BA Ed/BSc Ed programme with at least 50% marks; for SC/ST/BC/Differently Abled applicants, the minimum mark is 45%.
APTET Paper – 2B (Class 6 to 8)
Physical Education Teacher Intermediate Certificate issued by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh (or) similar certificate acknowledged by the Board of Intermediate Education, A.P. Govt. and Under Graduate Diploma in Physical Education (U.G.D.P.Ed.) of one- or two-years duration/ Diploma in Physical Education (D.P.Ed.) of not less than two years (or equivalent) from any NCTE Recognized Institution are required, OR
Graduation or similar (or) Bachelor's Degree with Physical Education as an elective subject (or) Graduate in Physical Education (BPE) of at least three years duration and Under Graduate Diploma in Physical Education (U.G.D.P.Ed.) of one- or two-years duration/ Diploma in Physical Education (D.P.Ed.) of not less than two years (or equivalent) from any NCTE recognised Institution.
Physical Education School Assistant / Teacher Graduation or similar (or) a Bachelor's Degree with Physical Education as an elective topic (or) a Graduate in Physical Education (BPE) of at least three years duration is required, AND
Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed) degree programme of at least one year duration from an NCTE-recognized university or institution.

Q1. Will I get hired if I simply pass the APTET exam?
Ans.
Passing the APTET test does not guarantee the candidate a job. It is merely one of the eligibility requirements for teacher recruitment.

Q2. How many times can one take the APTET exam?
Ans.
There is no restriction to the number of times you may take the APTET exam. This implies that applicants can take the APTET test as many times as they choose.

Q3. Does the APTET test have any negative marking?
Ans.
No, the APTET test does not include negative grading. For each correct answer in the exam, candidates receive one mark.

Q4. How many times does APTET take place in a year?
Ans.
The APTET test is only given once a year, usually in October.

Q5. What is the test pattern for the AP TET ?
Ans.
The AP TET Exam will consist of two papers (Paper - I & Paper-II). Paper I is for applicants who will be hired as Primary Teachers (Class I to V), whereas Paper II is for applicants who will be hired as Elementary Teachers (Class VI to VIII). The written test includes objective questions. Each paper consists of 150 questions, worth 150 marks. The written test lasts for 2 hours and 30 minutes for each paper.
