Introduction

Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar (IIT Ropar) is a new IIT that is set up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. Presently the Institute offers B Tech in five disciplines which include Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science and Engineering. M Tech. program is offered in four disciplines: Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, CBME, and Electrical Engineering. IIT, Ropar offers an MSc course in physics, chemistry, and mathematics. With this now the Institute also offers a Doctoral program in various disciplines. The Institute had the highest placement season with 90.2 % placement.
