Introduction

Panjab University (PU) is a public college university in Chandigarh. It is both a central and a state university, with funding from both the state and union governments. It began as an extension of the University of the Punjab in Lahore, which was established in 1882. Following India's partition, the University of the Panjab was split into two independent institutions, one in each of the two separate nations, with the Indian university first known as East Panjab University (EPU) and located in Shimla. On October 1, 1947, it was renamed Panjab University and transferred to Chandigarh. It is acknowledged by UGC, AICTE and NAAC with an A grade.
In 1971, the Correspondence Studies Department was given name as University School of Open Learning. It is approved by the UGC and DEB and gives education to people who are unable to receive education of any kind. UG/PG/Diploma/Certifications programmes are provided by University School of Open Learning.

The PU application procedure is online.

Steps to Apply

Login to the website of PU.
A candidate must sign up and generate a login ID and password.
Following that, the candidate must complete the registration form with all of their information.
Then, the required documents should be scanned and uploaded.
Make an online payment for registration fee.
For entrance purposes, a hardcopy of the admit card should be brought to the examination centre.

Eligibility Criteria of Panjab University (PU)

Admission to the courses is based on both merit and entrance exams. In addition, the University does GD, PI, and Counseling sessions to complete the selection of candidates into a certain course.
