Admission

Students at NEHU Shillong can apply for courses/programs at both the Shillong and Tura campuses. Candidates can apply online using the University's official application portal. Candidates must, however, also apply through the official website of the appropriate admission tests.

Steps to Apply:

  • Visit the NEHU Shillong official website.
  • Click on ‘Fees' under the ‘Students' section.
  • Fill out your name, date of birth, gender, and email address to register.
  • Click the 'Register' button.
  • Your login ID and password, as well as a link to complete the application form, will be emailed to your registered email address. To proceed, click on the link.
  • Enter your email address and password to access your NEHU Shillong account.
  • Click the 'Login' button.
  • Choose the course you would like to apply for.
  • Upload copies of your passport-size picture and signature
  • Fill up your additional personal and academic information.
  • Fill up your address and guardian information next.
  • Click the 'Submit' button.
  • Complete the submission process and pay the application fee. For general admission, its INR 500 and for SC/ST, its INR 250. For Professional Programmes, its INR 800 for general admission and INR 400 for SC/ST.

 

Admission Important Dates 2022:

Every year, the admission season at NEHU Shillong begins in May. The University provides about 30-degree programmes in disciplines such as management, engineering, commerce, arts, sciences and so on. The NEHU Shillong application procedure is entirely online.

Final Deadline for Online Admission for Ph.D.                                     15th September, 2022
Deadline for online admission for MBA (Ari-business & Food Technology) extended      17th September, 2022 
Deadline for online admission for Master of Tourism & Travel Management (MTTM) extended 17th September, 2022
Deadline for online admission for B. Tech in IT/ECE/ENE/BME   15th September, 2022
Deadline for B. Tech Lateral Entry                                                     17th September, 2022
Deadline for online B.Arch. admission                                                17th September, 2022

NEHU Eligibility Criteria

Courses Eligibility
B.Tech 10+2 in science field or equivalent with 45% marks (5% relexation to SC/ST)
B.Arch 10+2 PCM or equivalent with 50% marks atleast alongwith NATA scores
BA LLB / B.Sc. / BA 10+2 with atleast 50% marks . Entrance test for BA LLB.
M.Tech B.E. / B. Tech with 60% marks alongwith GATE exams (Merit in entrance test exams)
MA Graduation degree in relevant field
M.Ed B.Ed with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST)
MBA Graduation with 50% Alongwith MAT and GD and PI
P.hD. / M.Phil Postgraduate degree in relevant discipline with 55% marks

 

Admission to M.Phil and P.hD. is based on performance in the entrance exam and a personal interview performed by the relevant department.
