Introduction

National Institute of Technology, Silchar was established in the year 1967 as Regional Engineering College. It was initially affiliated to Gauhati University but later the affiliation was shifted to Assam University. It received its present name in the year 2002. NIRF has ranked the college's 51st position in the year 2019. Data Quest has ranked 18th position among the top Government T-schools. The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various basic and technical fields. The faculties of the institute are highly efficient and experienced in the respective disciples. This college also provides a friendly atmosphere for the learning of the students.

Scholarship 1 – Swami Dayanand Education Foundation Scholarship

Through this scholarship, students will be granted a scholarship award which will range from INR 15,000 to INR 50,000 (scholarship is only for those students whose annual family income is less than INR 6 lakhs)

Scholarship 2 – Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Chinese Government Scholarship

This Scholarship Scheme is offered on the basis of merits as per the guidelines of the Chinese Government.
