Introduction

National Institute of Technology, Rourkela better known NIT Rourkela was previously known as Regional Engineering College (REC) when established on 15th August, 1961 at Rourkela in the State of Orissa (presently called Odisha). Later in 2002, the Institute was declared autonomous.
