Eligibility

Before filling out the application form, all applicants must meet the JEE Advanced eligibility criterion. If a student fails to fulfil any of the eligibility requirements, he or she will be rejected and will not be able to participate in the admissions process. The following are the general requirements for JEE Advanced eligibility:

  • Age Restriction: Students in the general category must have been born on or after October 1, 1997. For applicants from the restricted categories (SC/ST/PWD), there is a 5-year age limit relaxation. 
  • Qualifying Exam: Passed 10+2 or taking the exam in to be eligible for JEE Advanced.
  • JEE Main Qualifying Candidates: Only the top 2.5 lakh JEE Main qualified students will be permitted to sit for JEE Advanced 2022. The test organizing authority will publish a cut-off list for JEE Advanced. In addition to passing the JEE Main, all students must score above the cut-off.
  • Number of Attempts: Candidates are permitted to take the JEE Advanced test twice in two years.

Q1. Is it mandatory to take Papers 1 and 2 in JEE Advanced ?
Ans.
Yes, it is required. Candidates who took both examinations were only permitted to verify their results.

Q2. I am a PwD candidate who has a 40% disability and a PwD certificate. Is it possible for me to take advantage of the scribe and an extra hour during the JEE Advanced exam?
Ans.
The scribe's services are only offered to persons who are visually impaired, dyslexic, or have an upper limb handicap. The scribe's desire should be noted before registering for JEE Advanced . Only those who are granted permission will be able to profit.

Q3. Can a candidate take the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) without taking the JEE Advanced ?
Ans.
No, applicants who pass JEE Advanced will only be eligible to take AAT 2022.

Q4. Can people with PIO and OCI cards take the exam?
Ans.
Yes, PIO and OCI cards can take the JEE advanced exam. 

Q5. Are there any items I am allowed to bring into an exam room?
Ans.
According to the guidelines, you can only bring essential stationery products. There are no electronic devices, books, or calculators permitted in the test hall.
