Introduction

Bharati Vidyapeeth is a 57-year-old private deemed university in Pune, India. Patangrao Kadam, an Indian politician and educationist, founded it in 1964. Bharati Vidyapeeth has campuses in Navi Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune, Sangli, Kolhapur, Solapur, Panchgani, Karad and Satara among other places. Colleges of Medicine, Ayurveda, Dentistry, Homeopathy, Pharmacy, Nursing, Management, Engineering, Catering Technology, Hotel Management, Agriculture and Environment Science and others, are among these. On April 26, 1996, the Government of India issued the designation of "Deemed to be University" to a group of 12 Bharati Vidyapeeth institutes, based on the proposal of the University Grants Commission. It is accredited with a ‘A' grade by the NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) and recognised by the UGC (University Grants Commission).

Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) is a socially committed academic institution. Through its constituent units, it has made high-quality education available to a vast number of students. The University is aware that nearly 90% of prospective students in the college-going age group do not have access to higher education due to a variety of factors such as residential locations in rural and tribal areas, financial constraints, and other personal time constraints due to employment or household chores, etc.

Given that it is the University's mission to give educational chances to such disadvantaged students - rural, tribal, impoverished, and female – it has established the School of Distance Education. The University provides high-quality education to students through this School. The School provides all of the required amenities to its students in order to speed their self-learning. Aside from offering high-quality education to its students, the school has several other goals, including promoting a culture of self-learning, ongoing, and lifetime learning in society. To increase individual development and personal productivity by developing skills. To free students from the constraints of time and place as they learn.

Admission

The application process for Distance Education is done online and offline both and the university invites applications twice a year — in July/August and January/February.

Steps to apply:

  • The candidate must apply for admission to any academic programme of his or her preference using the specified application form available on the website.
  • After filling the form, students can reach out to any of our Learner Support Centres in Pune, New Delhi, Navi Mumbai, Kolhapur, Sangli, Karad, and Solapur.
  • The application form will display once the registration process has been completed. Fill the form to complete the process or download it (if applying offline).
  • Completed forms with uploaded scanned photos should be submitted by clicking the 'Submit' button or mailing to the official address.
  • Application fee should be paid as the amount specified for your course and category.
  • Save a copy of the application form and fee receipt for future reference.
  • Selected candidates will be notified of their registered phone number and email address.
  • To complete the eligibility criterion, the students should submit the original documents, which will be returned after verification.
  • The final selection of all programs will be based on a merit system based on Candidates marks acquired in previous qualifying exams.
    • Candidates for Bachelor's Degree programs will be chosen based on their performance in Intermediate (10+2).
    • MA, MCA, PG Diploma, and MBA candidates will be admitted based on their performance in the graduate-level test.

Bharati Vidyapeeth Distance Education Eligibility Criteria

  • For UG Courses (BBA, B.Com, BA, and BCA) at the University, admission is offered on a first-come, first-served basis based on merit. Eligibility for UG Courses is 10+2 from any recognized Board or the equivalent.
  • For PG Courses, eligibility is based on graduation from any accredited institution or college in the relevant field. Those who fall into the reserved category receive a 5% relaxation (minimum 45%). ​​​​MCA and MA English courses require relevant degrees.

Q1: Will I be given any study materials to help me prepare for the exam?
Ans: Because the institute is a remote learning school, it offers SLM - Self Learning Material. Students will receive ID cards following the admissions process. Study Material for your subjects can be obtained by visiting the Study Centre and presenting your ID Card.
 

Q2. How do I cancel my Admission and receive a money refund?
Ans: Candidates who wish to cancel their admission must submit a request application addressed to the Director, School of Distance Education, along with a receipt of their Online Fee submission to their respective Study Centre. According to Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, the policy of refunding money after admission cancellation is in effect.
 

Q3. Now that I've completed my online registration, what's the next step?
Ans: After successfully registering and paying fees, the candidate should print the application form and fee receipt and deliver it to the relevant Study Centre along with all required papers within a week’s time of submitting the online registration form.
