Introduction

The University of Agricultural Sciences is known as UAS, and located in Dharwad. The university was founded on 1, October, 1986. Presently, the University has five Colleges, 6 KrishiVigyanKendras6 Agriculture Extension Education Centers, 27 Research Stations. The University also has its jurisdiction more than seven districts namely Belgaum, Bagalkot, Dharwad, Bijapur, Haveri, Gadag, and Uttar Kannada in north Karnataka. 

The greater diversity exits of this university in climate, soil types, farming situations, topography cropping as well as jurisdiction includes dry-farming to heavy rainfall & in irrigated area. Some considerable progress of this university has been registered in the field of research, education, and extension from this University.
