Admission

ROUND 1: In the first round, candidates will appear for the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET). SET is a common objective, written test conducted in several cities across India.

The SET application consists of two steps:

Step 1 :

  • You can apply for SET Test by paying a non-refundable application fee of Rs 1,950/-
  • Select the institute and click on the “Click here to complete the payment amount” button under “Make payment”.
  • Pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs.1000/.

 

Step 2: Select the 'General (SET-General)' option during the 'Afternoon session GENERAL/SITEEE' in the 'PROGRAMME/DISCIPLINE PREFERENCE' section.

  • Select “Symbiosis Center for Media and Communication [SCMC] - [B.A. (M.C)]” under “GENERAL PROGRAMS; Select the Institute(s) you can apply to in the (General) section.
  • Select the institute and click on the “Click here to complete the payment amount” button under “Make payment”.
  • Pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs.1000/.-

 

Round 2: Candidates shortlisted for the second round will have to appear for the Written Aptitude Test (WAT) which will be conducted online by the center. They will also be required to participate in an in-house online Personal Interaction (PI) and will be required to submit a portfolio of creative work/extracurricular activities/accomplishments relevant to their candidacy. Links for WAT, PI, and portfolio submission will be shared with shortlisted candidates. All updates regarding admission will be published on this website.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants who have completed their 10+2 (or 10+3 Diploma approved by the State Board of Technical Education) in any discipline, from any recognized Board / Board / University, with a minimum 50% (45% for SC / ST) aggregation of marks or equivalent marks are eligible to apply for admission.
  • Candidates who are expecting their 12th results can also apply. It is their responsibility to submit proof of securing a minimum of 50% (45% for SC/ST) aggregate marks or equivalent degrees.
  • The full-time program at SCMC Pune lasts three years and is divided into six semesters. Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication is one of the best post-12 journalism and mass communication courses. It is a three-year undergraduate program that provides students with the technical skills and social understanding needed to write and communicate information to the general public about business, history, culture, budgetary issues, government affairs, entertainment and sports through mass communication media. such as television, radio, and online social networks.
  • As the discipline of journalism is based on truth, autonomy, and transparency, the course provides a comprehensive understanding at both academic and practical levels. This course focuses on communication theories and models, public relations, design and graphics, digital media, print media reporting and editing, radio production, data journalism, photojournalism, event management, and media law and ethics.
  • Our curriculum includes dynamic theoretical lectures, hands-on practical exercises, consultations, class presentations and homework. It is tested for quality and up-to-date links with higher education structures at top world universities.
