Introduction

Rani Durgavati University, widely known as the University of Jabalpur, is a UGC-acknowledged public university in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. The Jabalpur University Act, 1956 (Act No. 22 of 1956) founded the university on June 12, 1956, with regional dominance over the Jabalpur revenue district. In 1961, it relocated to its current home at Saraswati Vihar, Pachpedi, Jabalpur. Act No. 28 of 1995 established the university's jurisdiction over the regions of Jabalpur, Mandla, Seoni, Balaghat, and Narsinghpur. With the creation of Katni and Dindori as distinct revenue regions, the institution now has seven revenue districts. Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya, approved with an NAAC B+ grade, offers graduate and postgraduate courses of study in the faculties of , Arts & Humanities, Adult and Continuing Education, Education, Chemistry, Bioscience, English, Economics, Geography, Hindi, Journalism & Mass Communication, Law, Library Science, Maths & Computer Science, Physical Management, Physics & Electrical Science, Management and Sociology. This university also provides courses via distance learning.

RDVV is also now involved in various research projects, hence playing an essential part in India's higher education arena. This university is also well-known for its student services and central amenities.

The university campus encompasses 99.63 acres. It contains an art faculty building, an administrative block and teaching and research buildings for the departments of mathematics, chemistry, physics, bio-science, system science, and physical education. B.Sc. Maths, B.Sc. Biology, B.A./B.Com, Bachelors of Computer Application,

Masters of Computer Application, P.G. Diploma in Computer Application and Certificate in Computing are all available at the University DDE. There are nine study centres at the University DDE.

Admission

Candidates seeking admission to the institution must meet the fundamental eligibility requirements for each course. Admission to several UG degrees, such as B.B.A., B.Com (Hons), B.Sc. etc. is based on merit. For admission to Ph.D. programmes, the university holds a DET (Doctoral Entrance Test) for each subject independently. Admissions to the B.Ed. and M.E.Pd. programmes are competitive. The university holds an entrance examination for the B.P.E.S. and B.P.Ed. programmes. Admission to the M.B.A. programme is based on CMAT scores. However, admission to the M.B.A. International Business, M.B.A. Business Economics and M.B.A. Marketing Management programmes is based on merit. Candidates who pass the interview exam must attend an interview in order to be selected for the course.
