Introduction

Punjabi University was founded on April 30, 1962, in the former princely state of Patiala, with the primary goal of advancing the cause of Punjabi literature, language, and art. Punjabi University has subsequently grown to become the state's largest university.

Several milestones have been reached by the University in its efforts to further the overall growth of Punjabi. In addition to speeding up its principal responsibility of developing academic, intellectual, and scholastic standards, the University has made real and unwavering efforts for rural upliftment of society through different ways.

The Department of Distance Education was founded in 1968 and has been a pioneer in providing education via distance mode. It was the second institute in the country to embrace a non-formal style of education. This was India's first department to use a regional language as a medium of instruction and examination. Currently, the department oversees 34 multi-faculty programmes. The department is proud of its students, who have consistently scored very well in University tests, proving that the distant method of learning is second to none.

Applications for admission to Punjabi Campus can be filed both online and in person at the university. Applicants must first examine the admission details for Punjabi University Distance Education, and if they find themselves eligible, they can simply apply.

  • Candidates must go to Punjabi University's official website and look for the online admission page.
  • They can complete the form online.
  • After completing the application form, attach the necessary document and submit the photograph as well.
  • Submit the application fee online.
  • Now, submit the online application after completing all of the preceding procedures.

 

Steps to Apply Offline

  • Go to the Punjabi University official website and click on the online admission link.
  • Applicants can obtain the application form by downloading it.
  • After completing the form, attach the certified copies of all the necessary document.
  • Candidates should include one certified and one unattested photograph with their application form.
  • The application fee must be paid before the application form is submitted.
  • After completing the preceding steps, applicants can submit their application together with all necessary documents along with the DD.

Eligibility Criteria Of Punjabi University

BA / BBA / BCA 10+2 or similar
B.Com. 10+2 in commerce with at least 40% marks / 45% -50% at least if 10+2 is in any other stream
B.Ed. Graduation / Post-graduation with at least 50% marks
B.Lib.I.Sc. Graduation degree from an acknowledged university
MA Graduation with 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST)
M.Lib.I.Sc. B.Lib.I.Sc. or similar with 50% marks from an acknowledged University
