Florintree Advisors collaborates IIM Bangalore for the Global Centre of Excellence

A great collaboration has been announced by the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B) with Florintree Advisors Private Limited. It resulted in the foundation of a new Global Center of Excellence. The Tony James Center for Private Equity and Venture Capital (PEVC) is the name that aims to revolutionize the way private equity and venture capital are approached and studied.

Innovation and Collaboration Hub

Purposefully, the Tony James Centre enacts a comprehensive hub for both research and education, with PEVC industry spaces toward developing a dynamic ecosystem wherein academics, industry practitioners, and regulators work together in the field toward advancement and in support of developing talent in the said fields.

Students at this center will gain through direct interaction with industry leaders, getting invaluable experience and exposure to the current trends and practices in PEVC. Annual lectures by experts and research on issues of critical importance to the industry would be some features of the center, which would further develop a collaborative relationship between academic institutions and industry stakeholders.

 

One of the Milestone Contributions

In the MoU exchange, Director of IIM Bangalore Professor Rishikesha T Krishnan expressed gratitude for the substantial contribution made by alumnus Mathew. "This is the largest ever contribution from an alumnus, and we are deeply thankful for Mathew's support," said Professor Krishnan. He also praised Mathew for having named four classrooms after faculty who taught his batch and his clarity in setting up scholarships for PGP and PhD students specializing in finance.

 

The Tony James Centre is also yet another initiative in establishing IIM-B's commitment to research and education in the domain of private equity and venture capital in the direction of which this management institute is gearing up to be a leader in critical areas.
