Introduction

The full form of NIUM is the National Institute of Unani Medicine. The institute is located in Bangalore and it is an autonomous institute working for teaching, research, and training in the Unani System of Medicine. The institute was founded in 1984. The institute works under the aegis of the Government of India and the Ministry of Ayush. The institute is affiliated with RGUHS (Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science), Karnataka.

Presently the institute provides PG as well as research level courses in multiple disciplines. Admissions into these courses will be done on the basis of a merit list based. Admission

Admission into NIUM institute will be based on the entrance exam. The institute offers PG courses, to get admission in the courses one needs to clear the AIAPGET and BUMS degrees with a minimum aggregate score. The upper age limit for the General candidates will be 35 years, while for OBC applicants upper age limit will be 38 years and for SC, and ST categories Women applicants will be 40 years applying for Ph.D. courses.
