Introduction

Jiwaji University is a public affiliating university in Gwalior, MP. The name is derived from Gwalior's Jivajirao Scindia. It is officially accredited by the Government of India. The university was founded on May 23, 1964. And, the President of India, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, lay the foundation stone for the campus on December 11, 1964.

 Jiwaji University is approved by the National Council of Technical Education (NCTE), the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), Bar Council of India (BCI) and the National Medical Commission (NMC). It is recognized by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Also, it is recognised by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and

the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Jiwaji University began with 29 associated colleges and now has over 400 affiliated colleges as of 2022.According to the respected QS World Ranking 2021, it is placed 86-90 among all Indian universities, 351-400 among the BRICS nations, and 601+ among all Asian countries.

Jiwaji University's campus is sprawled across 225 acres of land and includes a large sports facility, a well-built library, a guest house, girls and boys' hostels and a computer centre, among other facilities. There are about 110 faculty members at the university, with a student-faculty ratio of 47:1. Every year, the University educates around 500 international students. It has developed an active Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) that aims to improve the university's quality and sustainability.

Morena, Gwalior, Sheopur Kalan, Bhind, Datia, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, , and Guna are among the seven regions of Gwalior and Chambal division where the university has affiliation agreements with institutions of higher learning. It began with 29 connected colleges and has now grown to include over 400 colleges.

Jiwaji University also provides its students with a variety of UG, PG, and doctoral distance-learning programmes through the Jiwaji University School of Distance Education.

Jiwaji University has 13 faculties and more than 35 schools in fields such as Science, Physical Science, Arts and Humanities, Education, Management, Commerce, Engineering, Law, Life Science, Physical Education, Technology and Social Sciences. BCA, BBA, BA, B.P.Ed, M.P.Ed, MCom, MA, MSc, LLM, MBA, MPhil, and PhD are among the undergraduate, postgraduate, pre-doctorate, and doctorate programmes offered by the University. Aside from these, the institution provides two integrated, diploma, PG diploma, and certificate programmes.

Admission

The admissions procedure for courses offered by the School of Distance Education is as follows:

  • The application process should be completed online.
  • Students should go to https://jiwaji.mponline.gov.in/Portal/.
  • A hard copy of the submitted application, as well as any supporting documentation, must be deposited.
  • Jiwaji University's admissions are largely dependent on an entrance exam. The merit-based admittance is restricted to a few courses. The university holds its own entrance examination and accepts national entrance exams, which are followed by comparable DTE MP Counselling.

Steps to Apply:

  • Online applications are accepted for admission to courses provided by the School of Distance Education.
  • To begin, students must go to the MPOnline website.
  • Choose the appropriate course, fill out the necessary information, and submit the form.
  • The candidate must pay the Application Fee and Course Fee online together with the application form.
  • The candidate must take a printout of the filled admission form and provide it to the School of Distance Education or study centre where he or she has enrolled, together with self-attested photocopies of: 
  1. Marksheets of Class 10th and 12th
  2. Migration Certificate
  3. Eligibility Certificate
  4. Graduation Marksheet (if applying for PG Courses)
  5. Gap certificate
  • A hard copy of the Application Form, along with any supporting documentation, must be deposited within 30 days after the application form's due date.
  • Students can also mail a printout of the application form and the required documents to Jiwaji University's School of Distance Education, Gwalior, M.P., Pin code- 474011. (If the documents are provided by mail, candidates must guarantee that they arrive within the time frame specified).
  • Students must go to the website to see if their names are on the admission list that is published after the last date of admission. They should also check their emails because admissions information will be sent via email.
  • Students who desire to have their admission revoked must apply within a month of the application deadline; otherwise, no fee will be reimbursed.
  • Completing the Enrollment Form: Students must fill out an Enrollment Form at the college’s website within a month of admission in order to be enrolled at Jiwaji University.

Jiwaji University Eligibility Criteria

•    Admission to all Bachelor degree programs is based on a Senior Secondary Certificate from a recognised board. The duration of all undergraduate courses is three years. 
•    Selection is based on JEE Main or AIEEE scores.
•    Final selection is based on DTE MP Counselling, which is held by MPDTE Bhopal.
•    For PG Course, Candidate must hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university. Selection would be on Merit-Basis for MBA and First come First Serve Basis for MA Courses and PG Diploma.
