Introduction

Jawaharlal Nehru University also popularly known as JNU is a public central university that was located in 1969. It is one of India’s top-ranked universities that offer postgraduate and research studies. Jawaharlal Nehru University has been given the status of ‘University of Excellence' by the University Grants Commission (UGC). JNU has been accredited with an ‘A’ grade by the NAAC. 

According to NIRF 2021, JNU is ranked 2nd among the top universities in India. The institute has been recognized and accreditated by more than 18 Defence and Research and Development institutions. MA The candidate should be graduated in any stream under 10+2+3 pattern with a minimum of 50% aggregate
MBA  Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate mark from a recognized university.
M.Tech/ME The candidate should have done B.Tech in a relevant field with a minimum of 55% aggregate
Doctoral
Ph.D The candidate should have a Master's degree or M.Phil coursework with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks

Scholarship

  • Merit-cum-means Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to students whose family income is less than Rs 2.5 lakh per annum. 
  • Ford Foundation Scholarship: There are limited numbers of scholarships available for students in MA. This scholarship is offered on a merit-based with an amount of Rs. 700 per month.
  • Okita Memorial Fellowship: This scholarship is awarded to the meritorious Indian students who are enrolled in M.Phil and MA 2nd year programs. Here 2 fellowships are awarded an amount of Rs. 5,000 per month with an annual contingency of Rs. 10,000 to selected candidates.
  • G Parthasarathi Endowment Fellowship: This scholarship is awarded to the students belonging to Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribe/ Backward Tribe with an amount of Rs. 1,000 per month for a year. 
  • Tendulkar Scholarship: Scholarship of Rs. 400 is awarded to 2 students for two years.
