Introduction

Jadavpur University was established long back on 24^th December, 1955 then in Calcutta (now Kolkata). There are three major streams in the University: Arts, Engineering & Technology and Science. There are 11 under graduation, 29 post graduation and 13 Doctor in philosophy courses under 13 departments in Arts stream. In Engineering and Technology, there are 23 under graduation and 26 post graduation courses under 17 departments. In addition to this there are 5 under graduation, 9 post graduation and 7 Doctor in philosophy courses under 7 departments in Science stream. According to NIRF India Ranking 2018, the University is ranked 12^th in Engineering, 6^th in University and 13^th in overall category
