Introduction

Indian Institute of Horticulture Research IIHR is India’s first Horticultural Research Institute. The institute was founded in 1967. The institute IIHR offers Ph.D. in Horticulture while ICAR institute conducts research in various horticulture genres. Admission to IIHR institute will be based on rank score or merit score in the entrance exam followed by the Interview.
At present time, the IIHR institute has 11 well-defined divisions as well as four sections. The divisions for Post Harvest, Fruit Crops, Plant Pathology, Nematology, Plant Genetic Resources, Biotechnology, Agricultural Chemistry, Seed Science and Technology, Agricultural Engineering, Aromatic Plants, Training and Sections for Medical, Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, etc. The institute has more than 65 purpose-oriented laboratories such as HPLC, LC, GLC, electron microscope, ultracentrifuge, counter, etc.
