Introduction

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University is located in Delhi and is also known as IPU or Indraprastha University. This university is recognized as a State University. It was founded in the year 1998 as a teaching-cum-affiliating university. The IPU University is accredited by the NAAC with an A Grade and also recognized by the University Grants Commission. It is also a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities and Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The main campus of this university is USICT or University School of Information Technology which offers various programs such as BTech-MTech (Integrated), MTech, and MCA programs.

Presently, the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University offers more than 50 UG, PG, and doctoral levels courses in various streams of Management, Medicine, Engineering, Commerce, Law, among others. The GSIPU University is known for its Management, Law, Computer Application, and Engineering programs. The university also provides multiple distance learning programs at both UG and PG degree levels and all the courses are recognized by the DEB (Distance Education Bureau). IPU CET is the entrance exam conducted by the University.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University has approx. 118 affiliated institutes, where 83 are self-financed and 35 are owned institutes and managed by the Government (NCT) of Delhi. In these affiliated institutions, there are 80 academic programs are being conducted with and more than 22,000 students enrolled every year. All the affiliated institutes of Guru GobindIndraprastha University follow the strict norms and which are laid by the AICTE, the Ministry of Education, and the state government. Apart from this, the GGSIPU houses two centers, namely the University Center for Disaster & Management Studies and the Center of Excellence in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
