Introduction

Government College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu otherwise known as GCET is spread over an area of 869 kanals of land at Chak Bhalwal in Jammu. The college was established under All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) in the year 1994. There are following 8 departments: Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Department of Applied Physics, Department of Applied Chemistry and Department of Applied Mathematics which offers 4 year B.E courses along with supportive courses for engineering students. The students were recruited by some of the major companies including Hindustan Construction, Satyam Computers, Mahindra & Mahindra, Power Grid Corporation of India to name a few.
