Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test

Overview

The Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test is held for those interested in working as Assistant Professors in universities in Andhra Pradesh, India. The test is subject-based, and only those with a post-graduate degree in that discipline are eligible to take it.

The official announcement for APSET is scheduled for July 2022. Candidates with a Master's degree or equivalent in any field or stream are eligible to apply for the APSET. The conducting authority will issue admit cards to individuals who apply for the APSET.

Eligibility

  • Age: The APSET has no upper age limit.
  • Educational Criteria: Candidates must have received a minimum of 55% in their Master's degree or equivalent test from a UGC-accredited university/college. (50% for SC/ST/PwD/OBC (non-creamy layer).
  • Nationality: Candidates for the exam must be Indian citizens.
  • The number of attempts: There is no limit to the number of APSET attempts.

The question paper - I is the same for all applicants taking the APSET test. The question paper will be bilingual, meaning it will be written in both English and Telugu. The syllabus for Paper-II includes the following subject:

Exam Pattern

The APSET  test will require the candidate to appear in two papers, both of which will be held on the same day. The Broad Paper (Paper-I) will include general teaching/research aptitude questions. The subject paper (Paper-II) will be depending on the aspirant's choice of subject.
Paper –I (General) – Total 50 questions of 100 marks and the time duration is 1 hour.
Paper-II (Subject) – Total 100 questions of 200 marks and the time duration is 2 hour.

  • There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.
  • Both papers will be objective in nature.
  • Candidates must mark their answers in the optical mark reader (OMR) sheet provided for both papers.

Exam Paper

Candidates taking the APSET test should thoroughly study the previous year's question material. In order to ace the real test, candidates may make it a practise to review the previous year's question questions. Some of the topics in the APSET Paper I are as follows: Research Aptitude, Teaching Aptitude, Mathematical Reasoning and Aptitude, Higher Education System, Data Interpretation, Comprehension, People, Development and Environment, Logical Reasoning, Communication and Information and Communication Technology.

Candidates can prepare for the APSET by practising previous year's question papers as well as practise papers. By practising the papers, candidates learn about their weak and strong points. This allows them to focus more on honing their weak spots.

Exam Application Process

The following steps are involved in the APSET selection process:

  • Complete the APSET Application Form: Aspirants must complete the APSET application form on the exam's official website. Before submitting their application for the APSET exam, candidates must fill out all of their educational and personal information, upload a passport-size image, and pay the APSET application fee.
  • Obtain an APSET Admit Card: Candidates can obtain their APSET admit card by entering their registration number and date of birth on the exam's official website.
  • Attend the APSET Exam: Aspirants must present for the APSET exam on the day, time, and location specified on their admit card. The APSET exam is divided into two papers. While Paper 1 is the same for all candidates, Paper 2 consists of questions from the candidate's chosen stream/subject.
  • Examine the APSET Score: Candidates must access their APSET results on the exam's official website. Aspirants can view their APSET results by clicking on the 'APSET Result' tab and looking for their roll number in the list of qualified candidates provided by APSET officials.

 

Cut Off: 

The APSET cutoff is accessible on the official website. The cutoff is announced separately for each topic group. The cut-off and minimum qualifying scores for the APSET test vary. The minimum qualifying marks are just the passing marks.
