Introduction

The Dibrugarh University is located at Raja-bheta near about five km to the South of the premier town of the Dibrugarh in the easternmost corner of Assam as well as India. DU or Dibrugarh University is located in Assam and it is a teaching-cum-affiliating university. The university of higher learning was established in the year of 1965 under the provisions of the (DU) Dibrugarh University Act. 

Dibrugarh is a well satiated and commercially & industrially advanced town in the north-eastern region and also a unique place in the fields of culture, art, and literature. The diverse tribes with their customs, distinct dialects, traditions & culture also help to make this area a veritable paradise for the study of Anthropology and Sociology.

Being a member of the AIU i.e. Association of Indian Universities and ACU i.e. Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) Dibrugarh University is known as significant recognition for its academic programs.

The university recognized with Directorate of Distance Education to offer various courses to those students who can not attend regular day classes and for whom the university is not accessible due to various reasons.
