Introduction

The Department of Laws was set up in the year 1889 in Lahore. The institute was re-established in the year 1948 in  Shimla. The Department of Law was once again shifted to Jalandhar in the year 1950 and finally got a Campus at Chandigarh in 1959. The institute has been ranked 27 for Law by NIRF in 2021.
