Introduction

Birsa Institute of Technology Sindri (BIT Sindri) is an engineering and research institute founded by the Government of Bihar in the year 1949. The institute is one of the oldest engineering institutes in India and was shifted from Patna to Sindri in 1950. BIT Sindri is affiliated to Jharkhand University of Technology (JUT), Ranchi. The institute is spread over an area of 400 acres near the eastern bank of Damodar River. BIT Sindri offers engineering and natural science programs which are recognized by the government of India. The institute is ranked among the top engineering colleges in India and Outlook India ranked the institute at 24^th rank in all India ranking.
