Introduction

Banaras Hindu University was formerly known as Central Hindu College that was established in the year 1916. It is a central university located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) UGC. BPA The applicants should be 10+2 passed out or equivalent examination or should be graduate/ Postgraduate or should have 3-Year Diploma degree in Vocal Music/ Instrumental Music/ Dance with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Music Practical/ Dance Practical is required for any of the above-mentioned courses
BAMS The aspirants should be 12th passed out or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks

B.V.Sc. The applicants should be 10+2 passed out

M.Phil The applicants should be Post graduate in any disciplines of Social Sciences/ humanities with minimum of 55% aggregate marks at qualifying examination
Ph.D The aspirants should be Post graduate in any disciplines of Social Sciences/ Humanities with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks at qualifying examination
LL.D The aspirants should have doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from this University/ any other recognized university or from a foreign university of standing in the concerned discipline

MD The applicants should have done MBBS degree from a college recognized by MCI (Medical Council of India) and one year of in-house internship

Cut Off:

Banaras Hindu University cut-off: Minimum Qualifying Score

Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has a fixed qualifying cut off for both UET and PET examination. Each students needs to get more than the minimum cut off criteria to qualify the respective entrance examination. Scholarship

  • All the blind aspirants shall be entitled to get Free Lunch and Dinner under "Annadaan Yojna" of Shri Vishwanath Temple and also an amount of Rs. 5,000 per annum per head.
  • An amount of Rs. 2,000 per annum shall be granted as Financial Assistance to those who are having poor family backgrounds.
  • A onetime grant of Rs. 4,000 per student shall be provided to the Physically Handicapped candidates. 
  • A maximum of Rs. 5,000 shall be provided as Financial Assistance for organizing Seminars/Workshops, at the Faculty/Institute level.
