CAT 2022 - Exam Dates, Pattern, Application Form

The notification for CAT (Common Admission Test) 2022 has been released. Common Admission Test is a national-level entrance test that is provided by IIMs (Indian Institute of Management), Ahmedabad. The qualified applicants through this exam will be able to get admission in many Post-graduate courses that are offered by the Indian Institute of Management across the country. The process of registration will be starting on the 4th of August 2021 and completed in online mode only.

Registration for CAT 2022

Complete details regarding CAT 2022 are given below:

The candidates will be able to fill the registration form from the 4th of August, 2021 in online mode only.
It is advised to all the candidates to fill in the valid and accurate information that is required for the application form to avoid rejection.
Before the payment, all the candidates must recheck the application form.
It is required to keep multiple photocopies of the application form for further use in the future.

The candidates can do the payment for CAT 2022 through online mode (via debit card/ credit card/ net banking) only.

Eligibility Criteria for CAT 2022

Some eligibility criteria norms are given below:

It is required for all the candidates to have a bachelor's degree from any recognized university.
It is required to secure a minimum of 50% marks as well as for the reserved category a minimum of 45% is required in a bachelor’s degree.
No age limit criteria are required for any candidate.
The candidates who are appearing in the last year of their bachelor’s degree can also apply.
The candidate who are holding CA or CS or ICWA such type of professional degrees, can also apply.

Exam Pattern

Mode of Exam: The exam will be done in CBT (online mode).
Type of Questions: The paper will be based on both MCQs (Objective) and non-objective type questions.
Time Duration: The time duration for the CAT 2022 will be of 120 minutes (2 hrs.).
Marking Process: In CAT 2022, 3 marks will be provided for each right answer and 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. For subjective type questions, no negative marking will be done.

Syllabus

The syllabus for CAT 2022 contains three sections:

1. DI (Data Interpretation)&LR (Logical Reasoning): it contains Connectives & Sequence, Seating Arrangement, Logical Matching, Pie Chart, Syllogism, Binary Logic, Blood Relations, Number and Letter Series, Bar Graphs and Column Graphs, Line Charts, Case lets and Tables, Venn Diagrams, Cubes and Clocks, Calendars, Combination of two or more types linked to each other.

2.Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension: it Contains Jumbled Paragraph and Close Passage, Analogies and Reverse Analogies, Reading Comprehension, Facts Inferences Judgements,Correction in Sentence, Grammar or English Usage, Synonyms Antonyms (Vocabulary Based),Fill in the blanks, Summary Questions.

3.Quantitative Ability: it Contains Averages, Coordinate Geometry & Mensuration,Ratio & Proportion,Sequences & Series,Time & Work,Surds & Indices,Time & Distance,Inequalities,Speed,LCM & HCF,Set Theory,Number Systems,Functions & Geometry,Permutation and Combination, Mixtures & Allegations,Probability,Trigonometry,Quadratic & Linear Equations,Profit, Loss & Discount,Complex Numbers, Percentages,Binomial Theorem,Simple & Compound Interest, Logarithm.

Admit Card

The admit card for CAT 2022 will be released in the last week of October 2021. Only those candidates who are registered for CAT 2022, can get their admit cards in online mode. It is required to carry the admit card along with to get the entry for the exam. It is advices to keep the hall ticket very safely till the completion of the exam.

Answer Key

After few days of the exam, the answer key will be released by the authority. With the help of the answer key, the candidates can check their answers before the declaration of the result. To get the answer key the candidates will have to use their valid CAT id and Password. The answer key will be released till the month of December 2021.

Result

The result for CAT 2022 will be released in the 1st week of January 2022 in online mode only. The result will not be sent by the authority to the candidates by post or by currier or any other offline mode. the candidates can access their results by entering valid login details.

The cut-off list for CAT 2022 will be released separately by every IIMs. Here is the previous year cut off the list given below:

Admission Procedure

As each IIMs will conduct separate counsel on the basis of CAT scores, no centralized counseling will be provided for CAT 2022. After the few days of result declaration, the admission procedure (that will be separate for each IIMs) will be started.
