Ban on Periyar University, Tamil Nadu for offering Programmes in Online mode

UGC declares Periyar University's online programs invalid. Online programs from Periyar University have now been declared invalid by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

The University Grants Commission has decided to ban Periyar university located in Tamil nadu from running any online program for the next two academic sessions, 2024-25 and 2025-26. It has now been decided by the Complaint Redressal Committee in its 578th meeting on 13 March 2024 that, based on the guidelines under section 7(3) of UGC regulations, Periyar University will not conduct any online course for these two academic years.

The UGC has decided that no application of Periyar University will be considered for the year 2022-23 to 2023-24, following the recommendation of the Grievance Redressal Committee (CRC). The 2021-22 application offering ODL programs submitted by the University will not be processed.

Therefore it is informed to all the students that they should not take admission at periyar university for online courses for the academic years 2024-25 and 2025-26
