What is PESSAT?

The ESSAT People's Education Society Scholastic Aptitude Test is an annual university-level examination implemented by PES University, Bangalore. This exam is vital for securing admission into undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Specifically, it is a mandatory requirement for entry into BTech programs among other courses provided by the institute.

The selection process for the candidates involves an evaluation of their test scores in conjunction with their performance during the personal interview round. The duration of the exam is set at 3 hours (180 minutes) consisting of papers in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English.

Exam Paper

The examination consists of four distinct parts: Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and English.

Both the Physics and Mathematics sections contain 60 questions each. Comparatively, the Chemistry portion has 40 questions and the English part has 20 questions. The format adopted for all these questions will solely be Multiple Choice Objective Type.

Exam Application Process

Application Procedure: Aspirants are able to apply for PESSAT by completing an online form. To begin this process, candidates are required to register as a new user. Once registration is successful, candidates will receive their login IDs.

Booking a Slot: Upon submission of the application form, candidates are required to reserve a slot for taking the exam. After the exam slot has been reserved, an admit card will be generated. It is mandatory for candidates to download their admit cards.

PESSAT Examination: PESSAT is carried out at the Bangalore campus for all courses except B Tech. The B Tech examination is conducted across 44 test centers nationwide.

Counseling/Interview: Candidates who pass PESSAT are invited for counseling and interviews, based on their acquired scores. Subsequently, a merit list is published, containing the ranks of candidates and the corresponding schedule.
