Overview

The National Defence Academy, often known as the NDA, is one of the most coveted defence entry tests in the country. The test is held for admission to the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the NDA as well as the Indian Naval Academy Course. An NDA is conducted twice a year and consists of two parts: a written examination and an interview SSB. The UPSC compiles a list of applicants who get the minimum qualifying marks in the written examination. These applicants are invited to the SSB Interview for the Intelligence and Personality Test.

 

Highlights: On December 22, 2021, the Union Public Service Commission will issue the NDA-I 2022 notice. Along with the announcement, the application form will be made available. Male and female applicants are both eligible to apply for the test, which will be held on January 11, 2022. The NDA I 2022 written test will take place on April 10, 2022. On May 18, the NDA-II 2022 notification will be made public. From May 18 until June 14, 2022, the NDA-II application form 2022 will be accessible. The written test for the NDA-II 2022 will be held on September 4, 2022. The NDA notice PDF comprises all exam-related information, such as the number of vacancies, exam dates, test pattern, curriculum, course name, remuneration, exam centres, eligibility requirements, medical standards, the application procedure, etc.

Exam Center

Aspirants must select their preferred cities when filling out the application form. The examination authority, on the other hand, assigns the exam centre to the hopefuls. The commission, on the other hand, has the authority to cancel or add exam locations. The following are the exam centres:

Cut Off

The NDA cut-off for the written test and final selection is announced following the announcement of the final result. The written test cut-off is based on a score of 900. The final cut-off is based on the marks obtained by the last recommended applicants out of a total of 1800 marks (900 marks of written exam and 900 marks of SSB Interview). The qualifying NDA threshold marks for each topic are set at 25%. Candidates must pass the test by achieving different cut-off scores in the written exam and the SSB interview.
 

Selection Process

The entire NDA exam recruiting procedure is outlined below:

  • Application form: Candidates must complete the application form online. The application cost can be paid both online and in person. Women candidates/SC/ST/ Sons of JCOs/ ORs / NCOs are free from paying the application cost.
  • Admit card: Admit cards are distributed electronically to all enrolled applicants. Candidates must login with their registration number or roll number in order to download the admission card.
  • Appearing in the written test: The NDA written exam consists of two papers: Mathematics and GAT. The written test is worth a total of 900 points.
  • Result Declaration: The result is declared online. The qualifying applicants' roll numbers will be displayed in the result.
  • Appearing in the SSB interview: The SSB interview is worth 900 points. The examination is divided into two stages: I and II. Officer Intelligence Rating exams and the Picture Perception and Description Test are included in Stage I. (PP&DT). Stage two consists of Psychology Tests, Group Testing Officer Tasks and the Conference.
  • Final result announcement: The final result is released based on the marks obtained in the written test and the SSB interview.

Q1. Who is eligible to take the NDA exam?

Ans. Candidates for the NDA must be between the ages of 16 and 19. Candidates who have completed or are about to pass Class 12 from a recognised board are eligible to apply for the test.

Q2. What are the educational requirements for the NDA?

Ans. Candidates who are taking the 12th class or equivalent State board exams are also eligible for NDA 2021. To be eligible for NDA 2021, aspirants must have passed class 12 or the equivalent State Board examination. For Air Force or Naval wings, and the Indian Naval Academy's 10+2 Cadet entrance process. To be eligible for NDA 2021, candidates must have completed their 12th grade with Physics and Mathematics as subjects, or have passed the equivalent State Board examination.

 

Q3. What subjects are included in the NDA exam?

Ans. The NDA test includes questions from two subjects: mathematics and the GAT - English and General Knowledge.

 

Q4. Can girls take the NDA exam?

Ans. Yes, as a result of the Supreme Court's interim judgement, girls can now take the NDA exam. Previously, they were not permitted to take the exam.

 

Q5. Is it possible for a married candidate to apply for the NDA exam?

Ans. No, only unmarried male and female individuals may apply for the NDA exam.

To be qualified for the exam, candidates must meet the following NDA qualifying criteria:

 

Age Limit:

Male and female applicants for NDA 2 2021 should be born no sooner than January 2, 2003, and no later than January 1, 2006.

 

Educational Qualification:

The educational prerequisites for the NDA test varied amongst academies. As a result, candidates should double-check their educational credentials:

  • Air Force, Navy and Naval Academy: 10+2 or HSC exam under the 10+2 exam pattern, which should be conducted by State Education Board or University.
  • Army Wing: Class 12 or HSC under a 10+2 pattern from any school education Board or similar.

 

Foreign Nationals:

To take the test, foreign nationals (regardless of Gorkha candidates) must obtain a certificate from the Government of India stating their eligibility.

Syllabus
