Overview

The application form for KMAT has been launched now. If you're interested, you can begin filling it out.

Do keep in mind that August 31 is the final date for wrapping up your registration process. To be considered eligible for the exam, you're required to have at least 50% marks in your final year Bachelor's degree examination.

Want to know about the KMAT exam pattern? Don't worry, we got you covered! The question paper includes 120 multiple-choice questions, all amounting to 1 mark each. So, in total, you need to score 120 marks.

You'll be allocated a time limit of 2 hours to finish the question paper. The paper is portioned into three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, and Logical Reasoning.

What do you understand KMAT Exam?

The Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) is a statewide exam aimed at helping students gain admission into advanced programs such as MBA, PGDM, and MCA. These programs are offered by more than 169 B-schools affiliated with different universities and 55+ MCA colleges throughout Karnataka.

For all those who clear the KMAT Karnataka, there's good news! You'll be asked by the participating institutes to take the next steps in the admission process, which generally includes Group Discussions and Personal Interviews.

Well, it's none other than the Karnataka Post Graduate Private Colleges' Association (KPPGCA). This body was set up to lend an assisting hand to professional education and help smoothen the road to securing admission in various postgraduate professional courses.

Eligibility

Before, the KMAT exam was only open to those who held Karnataka domicile. But guess what? Things changed in 2018! They did away with the domicile condition. Now, anyone from any state can sit for the examination.

The new eligibility criteria for KMAT are not randomly decided but are based on guidelines from the reliable University Grants Commission (UGC). Remember though, while this applies to all colleges participating in the exam, some colleges may have extra requirements for you to finally get in.

MBA Academic Requirements:

Anyone hoping to pursue an MBA must complete their undergraduate studies in any field at a recognized university. Whether it's Commerce, Management, Arts, Social Sciences, or Engineering/Technology, as long as you're a graduate, you're eligible.

Remember, you need to score at least a 50% aggregate or equivalent CGPA in the final year of your Bachelor's degree. If you happen to belong to the SC/ST category, your minimum aggregate requirement is 45% or an equivalent CGPA.

Eligibility for MCA through KMAT 2023:

For those aiming to enter MCA courses via KMAT 2023, holding a Bachelor's degree in any stream is compulsory. You also need to secure a minimum 50% aggregate in the final year of your Bachelor's degree. Plus, don't forget that Mathematics at the Class 12 level is a must-have in your academic records.

Age Criteria for KMAT 2023:

There's no specific age limit set by KPPGCA for Karnataka KMAT. But you should be 21 years or older when you're admitted.

Exam Paper

You'd like to know that the pattern for the KMAT Exam gets announced by the exam organizers, usually when they release the official notification. So here's what you can expect:

It's a paper with 120 multiple-choice questions, with each question carrying a value of 1 mark, covering three main areas:

Absolutely! You're more than welcome to apply for two programs. Just remember, you'll need to complete a KMAT application form for each one. Also, the application fee is INR 850 for each program, which needs to be paid individually.
