Application Process

Filling out the JEE Main application form will be entirely online. Candidates will be able to apply for a single session or all four sessions at their leisure. Candidates will also be needed to supply scanned versions of their portraits, signatures, educational certificates, and papers pertaining to reservation advantages while filling out the application form.

Steps to Apply:

  • Navigate to the official website and select JEE Main Application Form.
  • Select "New Registration." To finish the registration, enter the essential information and click the "Submit" button.
  • After completing the registration process, candidates will be sent to the website where they would be able to fill out the comprehensive application form. Candidates must supply information about their educational qualifications, parents' information, communication and permanent addresses, and exam centre preferences at this phase.
  • Upload signature/photograph and to complete the process, pay the amount for the application fee.

 

Registration Fee:

The registration fee for JEE main is as follows:

  • INR 650 for Male candidates of OBC category/ Unreserved
  • INR 325 for Female candidates of OBC category/ Unreserved
  • INR 325 for ST/SC/PwD/Transgender category candidates

 

Selection Process:

  • A total of 50.5 percent of the total applicants would be drawn from the top scorers on the JEE Main Common Merit List. 27 percent, 15 percent, and 7.5 percent of the applicants would be drawn from the top rankers of the SC, OBC-NCL, and ST category rank lists, respectively. Candidates who do not appear on the category rank lists are those who did not appear on the CML's list of 75,750 candidates. 
  • A total of 3% of the applicants chosen in each category will be from the PWD sub-category, and their names will appear on the appropriate JEE rank lists (Main).
  • At this stage, just the candidate's aggregate JEE (Main) marks will be evaluated, and no tie-break procedure will be employed. 

 

Cut Off:

  • The JEE Main cut-off is the minimal percentile score that students must get in order to be eligible to take the JEE Advanced. The cut-off for JEE Main will fluctuate depending on the category. Candidates should be aware that there are no minimum or cut-off marks required to pass the JEE Main test. The All-India Rank is determined by the score that a candidate receives in JEE Main, and admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs is solely dependent on the All-India Rank. The JEE Main cut-off is exclusively for those who wish to compete in JEE Advanced.

Q1. Has the NTA modified the JEE Main test pattern?
Ans.
The NTA modified the main test pattern. Candidates must now attempt a total of 75 questions out of 90. B.Plan. and B.Arch. are now distinct articles.

Q2. Do I have to pay the JEE Main application costs for all sessions at once?
Ans.
Candidates who are taking JEE Mains in all sessions can pay the application fees collectively or individually after each session. If a candidate wishes to withdraw from a session for which fees have been paid, he or she may seek a refund of the application cost for that session.

Q3. What objects are permitted within the JEE Main  test centre?

Candidates may bring an admission card, a clear water bottle, a ballpoint pen, an additional photograph to be put on the attendance sheet, and personal hand sanitizer with them (50 ml) Transparent water bottle for personal use

Q4. Is a 70 percentile in JEE Mains adequate?
Ans.
Depending on the category, candidates with a 70 percentile in JEE Mains can gain admission to several colleges. Candidates must, however, score well in order to gain admission to NITs and IIITs, as the JEE Main cut-off remains high at these institutions.

Q5. What are the JEE Mains qualifying marks?
Ans.
The qualifying scores for the JEE Main test will be released alongside the final result. The qualifying cut-off for JEE Mains is the lowest number of marks that students must get in order to be eligible for JEE Advanced.
