Overview

The Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka administers the COMEDK UGET, a state-level entrance test. The test serves as a doorway to engineering and architecture programs at more than 120 colleges/institutions that recognize COMEDK results. Candidates who pass the COMEDK test become eligible for admission to over 20000 BTech and BArch seats that are available. Every year, almost 70,000 applicants take the COMEDK test.

Eligibility

  • Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen.
  • Educational Criteria:
    • For B.Tech. - 10+2 passed/appeared with at least 45% in PCM and English (40% for reserved category candidates of Karnataka). Each subject should have been passed separately.
    • Diploma applicants are ineligible for the test since there is no lateral entrance into the programme.
    • For B.Arch. - 10+2 passed/appearing in PCM or 10+3 Diploma acknowledged by the Central / State Governments with at least 50% aggregate marks. (45% for Karnataka reserved category candidates)
    • B. Arch applicants are exempt from taking the COMEDK test. They must, however, have appeared for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture).

Exam Pattern

COMEDK UGET will be held in an online format for three hours. The total no. of questions will be 180, in the exam. All questions will be of objective types. There will be one mark granted for each correct answer, and there will be no negative grading.

  • Candidates must completely understand the COMEDK syllabus in order to properly prepare for COMEDK. They can use COMEDK previous year papers and sample examinations to aid them.

  • Candidates must devise and implement an effective approach. They should be well-versed with the syllabus and test format. Exam Application Process

Only online applications for COMEDK UGET are accepted. So, it is recommended that candidates fill out their forms as soon as possible to minimize last-minute troubles. The following are the processes to fill out the COMEDK UGET application form:

Registration COMEDK: Go to the website and select 'Login COMEDK UGET Application Form'. You will be redirected to a new page where you must provide the required information (Name, DOB, Cell-phone number, Email id, ID proof etc.) to complete the registration process.

Filling the Application Form: Candidates must log in to their account after successfully registering to complete the COMEDK Application Form. After successfully login in, an online application form is provided, in which candidates must fill out their personal information, address, academic information, category, gender, nationality, contact information, and so on. Mention whether you have already taken the exam. After you've completed all of the fields, click 'Save and Continue.'

  • Documents Upload: Before submitting the required documents, applicants must check that they meet these specifications:
  • A recent colour shot with a light backdrop is required.
  • The same photograph should be utilised in subsequent steps.
  • Look directly at the camera so that the image captures your entire face.
  • The face should not be obscured by hair, a garment, or a shadow.
  • The forehead, nose, eyes, and chin should all be visible.
  • The signature must be done on white paper using a black ink by the candidate.
  • Check to see if the uploaded photos are clear and match all standards.

COMEDK Test Centre Selection: Candidates may submit three options for COMEDK UGET Exam Centres. Make your selections from high to low based on your preferences. COMEDK retains the right to close a centre if the number of students who choose to attend it is insufficient. Once assigned, the centres cannot be modified, and any inquiries about them will be ignored.
Applicants are recommended to select the facilities that are nearest to their residence in terms of convenience and accessibility.

COMEDK Application Fee Payment: After completing the form, applicants must select their preferred method of payment. The cost can be paid with a debit/credit card or using net banking.
There will be no offline payments accepted. Check the application fees for COMEDK and UniGAUGE before making a payment. The fee will be determined by the exam(s) selected on your application form.

COMEDK Application Form Submission: Before hitting the 'Submit' button, candidates must review their form. They will be unable to make changes to the form once it has been submitted. Except for the registration information, all other fields are editable. Make sure you satisfy the eligibility requirements for taking the exam, and if you want to apply for a reservation, make sure you have the relevant documentation.

Selection Process: 

These are the processes that applicants must do in order to participate in COMEDK Counselling: 
Step I: Counseling Registration and Fee Payment;

Important point for counseling is mentioned below:

  • There will be a max. of three rounds of counselling.
  • Counseling sessions are limited to a maximum of seven.
  • Stages of Counseling includes Registration, Uploading Documents for Verification, Choice Filling, Mock Allotment, Seat Allotment etc.
  • Who is eligible to apply? - NATA exam qualifiers ( for architecture)/ COMEDK UGET ( for engineering). Candidates must, however, register online in order to participate in counselling.
  • Candidates who have completed their 10+2 or similar with 45% aggregate marks in Physics and Maths, as well as Biotechnology/Chemistry/ Electronics/Biology/ Computer (40% for SC/ST/OBCs of Karnataka State only).
  • Candidates appearing for the PU Board / 12th supplementary exam can upload their present marks card. They will have the opportunity to upload their qualified marks card later on since their counselling will be completed after all rounds of regular counselling. However, all other criteria for eligibility must be met.

 

Cut Off: 

The COMEDK UGET cut off changes for various programs and will be varied for different categories of students. The COMEDK cut off will consists of starting and ending ranks for universities that accept COMEDK results. This means that in order to get admission to one of the COMEDK universities, candidates must achieve ranks equivalent to or higher than the COMEDK cut off.

Exam Center

Candidates are advised to select their COMEDK test centre based on accessibility and convenience. COMEDK UGET & UniGAUGE is sharing the testing location this time because they will be taking the same exam. The COMEDK exam centre will be listed on the candidate's admit card.

Admit Card

The admit card is made available on the website by the exam's organisers. The processes for downloading the admission card are shown below.

  • Visit the website and log in to your COMEDK accounts in order to get the Hall Ticket. 
  • Select the "Engineering Application" option.
  • the COMEDK Applicant login information, including the User ID and Password.
  • Select the login button. The screen will display the Test Admission Ticket (TAT).

FAQ

Q1. Will I get accepted if I achieve the minimum cut-off marks?
Ans.
Admission to the participating colleges is determined by a variety of factors. Aside from meeting the minimal cut-off, candidates must also meet the authority's qualifying conditions.

Q2. Will COMEDK written exams be used to determine admission to BArch courses?
Ans.
No. Candidates seeking admission to BArch programs in the state must have taken NATA. Seats in COMEDK colleges, on the other hand, will be assigned through COMEDK counseling.

Q3. Is there an age limit for participating in COMEDK?
Ans.
The qualifying criterion for candidates seeking admission to BTech courses provided by COMEDK would be in accordance with AICTE standards.

Q4: I lost my COMEDK admit card. Can I still take the exam?

No, it does not. You must contact the COMEDK Helpdesk and request that a provisional COMEDK admission card be issued.
