Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test

Eligibility

Candidates aiming to sit for the TANCET MBA Examination are required to possess a bachelor's degree with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks. For applicants from reserved categories, the required aggregate is 45%.

Candidates can be deemed eligible based on their education completion pattern which can include any of the following:

  • A pattern of 10 + 2 + 3 / 4 /5 years of education
  • A pattern featuring 10 + 3 years of diploma + 3 years of education
  • Completion of 10 + 2 years of education followed by B.E., B.Tech., B.Arch., or B. Pharm
  • A 10 + 2 + AMIE completion pattern
  • A 10 + 3 years diploma (as awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) + AMIE educational pattern.

 

TANCET MCA Eligibility Guidelines

Candidates should possess a minimum three-year bachelor's degree either in BCA or B.Sc (IT/ CSE/ equivalent). Alternatively, a candidate with a similar duration bachelor's degree in subjects not listed here may also apply, provided they have studied Mathematics at either the 10+2 or Graduation level.

Candidates are required to have secured a minimum aggregate of 50 percent in their qualifying exams (this is relaxed to 45 percent for candidates from reserved categories).

Eligibility also extends to individuals who have completed their education following one of these patterns:

  • 10 + 2 + 3 / 4 / 5 years pattern
  • 10 + 3 years diploma + 3 years Pattern
  • 10 + 2 + AMIE
  • 10 + 3 years diploma (awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) + AMIE

 

Eligibility Requirements for TANCET M.E./M. Tech./ M.Arch./M.Plan.

To qualify for TANCET M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M. Plan, candidates should fulfill the following criteria:

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent, with a minimum of 50 percent marks. For reserved category candidates, the requirement is 45 percent.
  • Holders of the following degrees are eligible:
    • B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Arch degree programs
    • B.Pharm.
    • 10 + 2 + AMIE
    • 10 + a 3-year diploma awarded by the State Board of Technical Education + AMIE
  • Candidates who have completed a Master's degree program in a relevant Science / Arts discipline are also eligible to apply. These qualifications must have been obtained prior to the TANCET Test

Anna University annually conducts the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) to facilitate admissions into MBA and MCA courses. Candidates sitting for TANCET can aim for more than 250 MBA colleges within Tamil Nadu. University Departments, Constituent colleges of Anna University, Annamalai University, Government and Government Aided Colleges, as well as Self-Financing Colleges within Tamil Nadu, acknowledge TANCET scores as valid criteria for admission into their MBA and MCA programs.
