Syllabus

The IIT JAM exam syllabus will be comprise of all relevant science subjects. In exam, the questions will be asked from Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Biotechnology, etc.

Chemistry
This section contains questions from spectroscopy, solid state, organic reaction mechanism, adsorption, natural products chemistry, mathematical concepts, theory of gases, aromatic and heterocyclic chemistry periodic table, main group elements, chemical thermodynamics , electrochemistry, basic concept of organic chemistry, bio inorganic chemistry, chemical bonding,analytical chemistry, shapes, etc. topics.

Mathematics
Some important topics from this section are integral calculation, group theory and sequence function and one variable, vector calculus, differential calculus, real analysis, linear algebra, and series and real number etc.

Mathematics Statics
This sections includes topics matrix, probability, differential and integral calculus, random variables, estimation, sequence and series, joint distributions, limit theorem, testing of hypothesis, sampling distributions, etc.

Physics
The syllabus from this section are kinetics theory, mathematical methods, modern physics, thermodynamics, electricity and mechanism, devices and electronics, oscillation waves and optics, solid state physics, mechanics and general properties of matter, and modern physics, etc.

Biotechnology
The questions will be asked from the General section arebasic biotechnology, biochemistrybiology and physiology, etc.

Geology
The syllabus from this section will include the planet earth, geomorphology, palaeontology, structural geology, petrology, stratigraphy, applied geology, economic geology and mineralogy, etc.
