CSIR UGC Test for JRF and Eligibility for Lectureship

Eligibility

Candidates must check that they meet CSIR NET eligibility before filling out the application form for the CSIR NET test. Candidates must keep in mind that if the NTA finds them ineligible at any point throughout the exam, they will be disqualified.Nationality: must be an Indian citizen

  • Age Restriction: Candidates must be at least 28 years old to apply for JRF. [33 years for reserved categories (SC/ST/PWD/female) and 31 years for OBC NCL candidates].
  • Lectureship Requirements: There is no upper age limit for applying for a lectureship position.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 55 percent in a BE/BTech/BPharma/MBBS/BS (four years)/Integrated BS-MS/MSc degree.
  • If a candidate applies for a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and also meets the lectureship eligibility requirements, he or she will be considered for both.
  • If a candidate is discovered to be over the age limit for JRF, he or she will be considered solely for lectureships or associate professorships.
  • Candidates who have finished or are awaiting the final results of their MSc are eligible for lectureships if they meet the CSIR NET qualifying criteria.
