APPSC Group 1

APPSC Group 1

Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission Group 1 Exam

Application Process

The APPSC Group 1 test is used to select officers for the provincial civil services. The APPSC Group 1 test is divided into three phases.

Prelims/Screening Exam: The prelims test is a screening exam held in thirteen districts in Andhra Pradesh. It accomplishes its goal by lowering the number of candidates for the APPSC Group 1 main test. The APPSC Group 1 Hall Ticket is distributed seven days before the examination. The prelims test is just for qualifying purposes, and the marks obtained in the APPSC Group 1 Prelims exam will not be included in the final merit list.

Main Examination: The APPSC Group 1 main exam is a standard-style test that is taken offline. The main exam marks are considered for generating the APPSC Group 1 final merit list. In the main test, there are seven traditional essay-style question papers. The Telugu and English tests are purely qualifying in nature, and their scores are not factored toward the exam's overall score. The remaining five articles are General Studies with a concentration on Andhra Pradesh events.

Interview for APPSC Group 1: Following the main test, APPSC Group 1 interviews are held, and applicants are required to report to the commission's office in Vijayawada. The candidate must provide all original papers as mentioned below: Educational Documents, DOB (Age/ Age relaxation proof, if applicable), category certificate, and professional experience proof (if applicable).

The commission's officials will physically check the original certificates and make a duplicate of all certificates for filling purposes. Following the interviews, the APPSC Group 1 final result will be made available. The APPSC will not create a waiting list for the test, and any vacancies that arise after the notice will be passed to the next year's notification.

Cut Off:

The cut-off is the score of the last applicant chosen for the following step. Each stage of the test has a separate cut-off, and the applicant must score equal to or higher than the cut-off marks to pass that level of the exam. The APPSC Group 1 cut-off is determined by the commission for each part of the test.

Cut off for Prelims: The APPSC Group 1 prelim exam consists of two objective papers that are administered online throughout the state. Negative marking is one by three. That is, three incorrect answers will deplete the scores earned by three correct responses.

Cut off for Mains Exam: The APPSC Group 1 offline exam consists of five essay-type papers. Aside from these five examinations, applicants must pass two language papers—one in Telugu and one in English. As a result, the APPSC Group 1 test cut off will be computed from the seven hundred and fifty marks.

Final Cut Off for APPSC Group 1: Following the APPSC Group 1 main test, qualified applicants are invited to the APPSC Group 1 interview. The APPSC Group 1 interview is worth a maximum of 75 points (75). To be selected in the exam, applicants must exceed the commission's calculated and stated cut-off. The cut off is determined by taking into account a number of parameters. The three key elements impacting the test cut-off are as follows.

  • Number of open positions
  • The Question Paper's Difficulty Level
  • The number of applicants who took the exam

The last component has little impact because the number of students taking the exam remains consistent year after year. The number of vacancies has a large impact on the cut off because, when all other factors are held constant, the cut off is inversely related to the number of vacancies.
